It would be nearly impossible to win the league if Ramsdale was reinstated and continued conceding at the rate he was at the start of the season.
I’ve not been particularly impressed by Raya, so this should not be construed as a strong, impassionaed defence of him, I just don’t really agree with you that bringing Ramsdale back in is going to guarantee anything.

Glad to see I’m not the only one getting really bored of this discussion. Seems to me it could be match day 38 and we need just a point to win the league and the team sheet will come out and if it’s Raya half of our fan base will still want the managers head at that point. We’ve just gotta get over it and support our keeper for fucks sake.

Claudio Bravo is a very good keeper but City still found a way to clearly upgrade on him. That’s the ideal outcome. Ramsdale is a very good keeper but so far it doesn’t look like we have a clear upgrade.

Absolutely, to be the very best we should be looking to improve in every position every 2-3 years if the current person holding that slot isn’t cutting the mustard.

Pretty shit, especially after last night.
These are tiny samples though, which is how you end up with someone like Onana at the top.
Looking back again, I thought I had remembered Ramsdale being really poor on this metric last year (which is where my original comment came from) but he was closer to average to be fair to him. Terrible this year but you can’t conclude anything from four games.

15 games is not that much at all lol what’s the justification for it being “plenty long enough”? Apart from you just thinking that and being a Ramsdale fanboy.

For an outfield player, usually 5-6 games are enough to see what attributes a player has.
For a goalkeeper, you need a larger sample size to see how a keeper reacts in different scenarios. It could take 10 if the keeper is called upon sufficient amount of times or 50 if the defence doesn’t allow as many scenarios. There’s no hard figure.
However, we have had enough games or moments to see what Raya does in terms of short passes, long passes, possession, handling of the ball, managing corners, managing crosses, communication bla blah blahhh
Raya has not shown himself to be a great upgrade on Ramsdale and if you want to foster competitive spirit (and not favouritism in the squad), you have to rotate the keeper once they have underperformed as many times as Raya.
It’s not me being a fanboy, it’s a reasonable position to have if you wish to have a squad that appreciates competition for spots.

United have been keeping their fair share of clean sheets despite the fact they’ve been getting peppered but yeah wouldn’t expect Ederson so low
All just arbitrary nonsense that you have decided is the rule, and then play off as though it’s cut and dry. It could be 5 or 6 games or it could be 30.
Havertz is only just starting to show something now after about 20 games for example, so you can easily find evidence that your stipulated amount of games is not necessarily evidenced by reality.
I actually really like Ramsdale tbh but this tribalistic bullshit is honestly pretty cringe particularly when you struggle to find any solid justification for your points apart from “well it should be like that because I think so”.

You could have responded with your arguments on why Raya should continue to get games but you have to rely on patronising responses.
