Cristiano Ronaldo

Is this the first time we’ll see Ronaldo in a Puma kit?

Disgusting. :face_vomiting:

I think it was a failure tbh

He was brought in to lead them to CL glory which wasn’t realistic considering the squad they had but it hasn’t been a success, the failure hasn’t all been on him but he hasn’t elevated them in key games as well so he has a share of the blame too.

I think after that experience it’s easy to see what not having the requisite team behind you can do to your CL prospects, Messi knows that feeling all too well and Ronaldo got a taste of it at Juve.

William bodied him.

Doesn’t belong back in the prem and city are sort of gambling here as it’s going to likely be a more competitive League this season.
He’s a quality player but not the player he was. Not for the prem.
Lukaku to Chelsea is a better deal in terms of output.

Didn’t he get sent off v City for a wild challenge on Cole?

The rivalry was there.

I’m off to RedCafe, should be good!

At least these scumbags will feel how we felt when Van Persie left us for them. The modern day football fan needs to stop fanboying players and need to stop expecting loyalty. If Ronaldo came back to them and flopped how Alexis Sanchez flopped at United . They would want him out the door. Football is a job at first.

They had that with Tevez, too.

It was beautiful

Very unexpected if this goes through. So will they still be going for Haaland next season or…

The denial that Man Utd fans are in is incomparable.
The so called biggest club in England have been demoted to celebrating being in Top 4 while their Manchester rivals have been dominating England the past decade.

This one is gonna hit them deep, especially if City go on to win the CL now and continue dominating England and probably Europe too.

Seems a touch desperate by city for me tbh.

Game, set and match for the league if he signs. Struggling to picture it though.

I’m thinking he’d come straight in at 14m on FPL.

Not sure about that. It sounds like if City get him, they’ll get him on their conditions.
Marketing wise alone City benefit massively from this.

Well that’s one aspect. I’m a big fan of his but it’s unlikely to be a stroll this season for City and don’t think he prospers in a big competitive League.
City could well have to adjust for him and it could come at a cost to certain players.

Can’t see him coming in at higher than 12.5 tbh

Well it’s pretty ballsy from Ronaldo to be keen on this move as well.

  • Essentially ruining his legacy as a Man Utd legend
  • Coming at the best league in the world, at 36
  • Will play for one of the most demanding coaches in the world who is notorious for backstabbing players and throwing them under the bus

Definitely far riskier than Messi’s move to PSG. Even if he doesn’t win Ligue 1, you can’t imagine Messi doing bad in France.
This is definitely high risk, high reward.

Good thing he doesn’t play for Man Utd.:grimacing:

There’s nothing risky about joining Manchester City mate.

Alongside and around him he’ll have;

Sterling, Foden, Grealish, Silva, KDB, Mahrez, Rodri, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Jesus

The midfield and above is ridiculous. Not to mention he’ll be eating alive crosses from £150m worth of full backs in Walker, Cancelo and Mendy.

And if his defensive work rate is lacking that’s fine, in the event a team does breach the City high press and midfield there’s always some combination of £200m CBs to fall back on with Dias, Laporte, Stones and Ake. Then there’s the £40m Ederson in goals cleaning up any balls that breach the defence.

You don’t see a scenario where Guardiola falls out with him and keeps his minutes limited?

There’s always a risk that can happen with Pep, or maybe Ronaldo can’t cope with the intensity of the league at his age.

But yeah, the potential reward is massive. Ronaldo could be scoring for fun if it all goes well.
He will break the record PL goals in a season if it does.
