Godin is a special player though.

Luiz was actually not an awful idea. It was a short fix. The issue for me is always the contracts.

Totally reasonable for a guy in his 30s to want a few years security. Totally reasonable for a club to hedge their bets.

So for example, signing Luiz wasn’t the issue for me, it was extending him after failing to secure a replacement and some ropey performances.

If we just signed Evans (Who was around 30 at the time) for 3.5m release clause we wouldn’t of needed to bother with Luiz or Sokratis.

Ah yeah, that rings a bell. You’re a good man for that :slightly_smiling_face: Between SRCJJ and what others get criticised for, I’m trying to figure out the acceptable limits of betting against Arsenal. Given you’re not really gambling, but just deciding to give money to OA whatever the outcome, I don’t think it’s to be factored in.

Yeah it’s a bit absurd to grill the head coach of Chelsea about Abramovich / Russia. He wasn’t brought there to be a mouthpiece for Abramovich he’s there to coach the team.
