Cesc Fabregas

If I went into my job and put in below par performances and yet demanded they change their ways, it wouldn’t be my employer bullshitting me. It’d be me bullshitting them

Yeah.

An arrhythmic heartbeat.

Gave us 10+ assists in every season from 08/09 to 10/11. In pretty disfunctional teams. Not as disfunctional as now, but still. How it that underperforming?

No need to change the narrative of what Cesc was for Arsenal because you didn’t like how he left.

Did he perform in his last season?

08 was one his best seasons… idk how many assists he had, but it shouldn’t be out of some frame of his best years. Since the second half of 06 he was our main playmaker… he carried us for 5 years. I’m not sure how to judge his character and the way he left as, but as a player he was simply world class since 2006 until he left.

9 goals 16 assists. I’d say he did pretty well, yea.

Beg to differ.

He couldn’t have into Liverpool’s, Man Utd’s or Chelsea’s side in the same time span.

Fuck off :joy:

What was that for?

I was vigorously disagreeing with your assessment. I could have been more tactful.

Dave start waving the white flag here mate you are fighting a losing battle :joy:

Because he was directly competing with the best players in their positions at that time, and players who were among the best players of the world at that era? Gerrard and Lampard… of course that makes him shit. :+1: Of course he would walk in that man united team if they were asking for creativity, but they were more about power and pace (a little bit of giggs or scholes at times was enough, although they were fine even without them).

And even at that age he was still on their (lamps and gerrard) level. I mean since 2007/08 and onwards… Absolutely of the best playmakers and of the most creative players in the world at that time, arguably the best one in that department. His assist and created chances stats in that era speak in his favour.

Didn’t say he was shit. I’m saying he’s not world class.

I argue that at no point in his career was Fabregas ever world class

That’s just beyond ridiculous. I just don’t have anything to say to that…

It’s not ridiculous. He couldn’t have got into any team in the world at any given time in his career. That’s the definition of a world class player, is it not?

As you’ve said, when you have Gerrard and Lampard playing at the same time, you can’t say Fabregas was better than them.

World class is bandied about a bit too willy nilly nowadays. Blinkered nostalgic view

:joy::joy: 2006-10 he was one of the best young players in the world. Please stop this nonsense

So you’d have put him in a world XI at that point?

Well he played regularly for the best team in the world in that period? Winning the World Cup and Euro’s twice?:thinking::thinking:

Better than Xavi and Iniesta?

He played alongside them :joy:
