What a career in football this man has had. Was an integral part of THAT Milan team as a player.
Somebody has a best seller on their hands and a major documentary award waiting to be made.

Well said Carlo! :clap::clap::clap:

Mourinho is so far from being the greatest that one could probably name 10 managers better than him post 2000, let alone before that

The greatest what though? The possibilities are endless

They have too many unpaid tax stories.

Don Carlo. What a career in football, both as a player and manager.

Certainly in the GOAT discussion for me.

So he’s won the league and the CL as a player with A.C. Milan.

As a manager he’s won the league in all the big 5 leagues (A.C. Milan, Chelsea, PSG, Real & Bayern)

And now he has won the CL 5 times.

003

Is he now the best manager of all time in football? I’d say so.

Dunno

What I will say is that he is the last bastion of the football I grew up with.

There’s not much in it between Ancelotti, Guardiola and Klopp but compared to a clown like Mourinho, with his massive spending and petulant, childish behaviour, Ancelotti is a class above.

If he was at Man City, it’s difficult to see how he could not have done a similar job to what Guardiola has.

Interesting. If I was to point out the odd one out of the 4, it’d certainly be Klopp. Not Mourinho.

Mourinho is one of the only coaches in the world that can chat to Guardiola and Ancelotti when it comes to success.

He’s just won his second La Liga with Madrid, but he only won a single league title at each of Milan, PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, and has never won back to back league titles. So I have a fair bit of doubt that he could have matched (or come close to matching) Pep’s 6 in 7. I’d back him to have at least one extra CL title though.

With the caveat that:

He managed Chelsea for two years and had a lot of injuries in his second season and was unfairly sacked.

The Italian league was plagued with a match fixing scandal around the time he managed Milan. It was also ultra competitive.

Bayern sacked him in his second season so he really won one league title in his only full season.

PSG he took over during the season and won the league in his only full season.

Think his league record is slightly underwhelming but it’s often looked at a bit unfairly.

How can you put Klopp in the same bracket as Ancelotti, Mourinho and Pep?

He’s a good coach but his career doesn’t match up to them 3.

Klopp hasn’t managed a genuine elite club but has won titles and CL trophies with limited spending in different leagues.

If he had the same resources as Man City, then Guardiola would not be winning so many titles.

Limited spending? He has spent an absolute fortune at Liverpool lol

Nearly €1bn on transfers since Klopp arrived at Liverpool.

That’s the biggest limited budget I’ve ever heard of in my life lol

People need to stop acting like Klopp has been working miracles at Liverpool. He’s spent more than most managers in Europe in that time frame.

He had to rebuild almost the whole squad.
When Guardiola took over at Man City there were already world class players there.

Apart from Klopp, how many other managers in Europe have won league titles and got to four CL finals at clubs weren’t elite from different leagues?

Pep had to rebuild the City squad too? So why is it ok for Klopp to spend €1bn rebuilding but not for Pep?

Pep walked into a club that had Clichy and Sagna as its full backs and an ageing core. He had to completely rip the team up.

Same thing Klopp had to do. Except because Klopp is the media darling he’s allowed to spend loads of money whereas Pep isn’t
