Yep but I don’t think he ever earned more than £40k a week which seems reasonable money for West Ham to pay a capped England international arriving from Arsenal and coming off a strong season for them.

I really like him but it always pains me how we didn’t sell him permanently to West Ham after his impressive loan stint. Got that horrible injury and never recovered

seems a genuinely good bloke…wasn’t good enough for Arsenal but when he was called on (which wasnt often) he gave it his all, you can tell he really loves Arsenal.
