Hope we absolutely destroy them but I think it’s going to be extremely tight. I desperately want to beat them though after last season (and the whole blood money ownership thing).

Newcastle dropped a few points at the start of the season but since then they’ve won nine of their last eleven games with two draws.
We’ve won nine, drawn one and lost one, so we’re both the in form teams.
It could be a great game because they press as hard as we do and are hard to break down but our attack has been the best in the PL so far this season.
We’re under more pressure than them because we’re top of the PL and playing at home so this is going to be the hardest game we’ve played.

Arsenal have won their last 10 straight Premier League games at home to Newcastle United.
That’s true but they also had one of the worst club owners in the PL, with a series of manager’s who were never backed in the transfer market.
This is a completely different team than we played in those previous games.

I’m a bit worried about our energy levels on short rest against a very energetic and combative opponent. This is hopefully where the Emirates turning into such a massive atmosphere makes the difference.

TBF Newcastle are also playing on short rest against an energetic and combative opponent who got to rotate both first choice fullbacks and their holding midfielder in the last match. I think if we’re able to get at them early they could crumble but what concerns me is being pushed really high up early and getting coldcocked on the break within the first 15 minutes.
Edit: The use of the verb “coldcock” just reminds me of this.
