Arsenal Vs Manchester City (PL)

I don’t think they’ve had an easier game all season

You’re setting yourself up for disappointment. Can’t you wish for something more easily achievable, like stopping world hunger and the global warming?

If the last month had proven anything it is that this job can’t be done by a)a second tier manager b) inexperienced manager.

These players have the quality, but they are currently lacking the confidence and direction needed to get them back on track.

I as have others have been saying since Emery got the sack that we need a manager with the right vision and experience to come in, and the CV to back it up. Which is why I wasn’t against the club appointing Mourinho.

KDB on Arsenal without the ball.

LOL yep - anyone with half a football brain that has watched us knows we have no clue without the ball.

One shot on target :arteta:

Yep 33 seconds in nothing after that for the rest of the 90 minutes!

No shit KDB, us fans that have been watching Arsenal all year know we half a half assed press of like 3 guys up top and the rest of the team out of position so like 2 passes can unlock our entire team :joy::joy:

I’m glad that we didn’t lose by more. You could tell pep was disappointed that he didn’t beat us by more. Think we got off lightly Tbh.

I thought we played better than usual which was interesting to see… but City are the champions and their world class quality was deadly. Suppose thats why kdb is 92 rated in fifa compared to guendozi 70 something…

Some ok performances and some really bad out there. Defensively horrendous as usual wtf was kolasinac marking and Chambers running backwards from attackers. Again gave way too much space to them in midfield just always running backwards especially Guendozi. He needs a reality check and some hard-core coaching.

Amn and pepe hooked up well I thought if they can keep that up I don’t see bellerin getting back in. Pepe was terrorising down that wing.

Auba again poor barely got a touch but no service. Getting fed up of his lack of versatility.

Ozil why man did you have a hissy fit grow up. I cant tell whether hes shit or he needs good players around him to play well

Martinelli looks way too good for us atm he’s giving his all bless him by far the most energy and sheer will out there. Sad that that’s the case. Our “BEST” Player is a new 18 year old

Torreira or xhaka

Even having doubts about Leno

Safe to say if we play like we did today we have a chance against Everton. We are fighting for survival now let’s not get too disheartened by today. Could’ve been a lot worse.

I don’t think any manager wants to come to us considering how shit the players are. I bet arteta will be thinking FUCK THAT lol

The result and manner of our performance were entirely in line with expectations and where we are as a club right now.

Didn’t even bother to watch it live on Sky. Got the recording and played on 30 x speed and didn’t have to slow it down to watch any of it properly. That way the misery was all over in a few minutes.

Leno? Really? He and Martinelli have been the only two positives of this season imo. Leno has kept us in the games.

Watching the game back on Motd and seeing how far the players are away from the opposition all game was as embarrassing as you’ll ever see. We are gone now as a team till someone comes in.
Absolutely shot to bits on and off the pitch. Everybody will want to play us now.

As the final whistle blew yesterday, music began to play from the loudspeakers in the Emirates Stadium. It wasn’t the risible ‘Sweet Caroline’, now somehow considered the anthem of a good result. Instead, the jaunty festive tune ‘Driving home for Christmas’ rang out and while I know it’s that time of year, it struck me that somewhere along the way the lines between sport and entertainment have become too entwined, and we’ve lost sight of the fact we’re first and foremost supposed to be a football club.

This was a sobering day for Arsenal. We all know there’s a gulf between us and Man City, but yesterday was more evidence that they are so far ahead of us it’s scary. There’s a chasm between us being even competitive with them and where we are right now, and an even bigger one in being close to as good as they are. I realise there are myriad reasons for it, some of which aren’t really relevant to this discussion, but it was as stark a reminder as you’ll ever have about how far we’ve fallen.

To me it says something about the culture of this football club that playing an upbeat, jolly song like that after that kind of lesson was handed down to us was considered acceptable. I don’t mean we should greet it with a funereal march or some kind of death metal, but Man City never got out of second gear yesterday and won comfortably. We barely troubled them, our one shot on target came in the opening minute, and beyond some nice moments from our youngest squad members, there was nothing positive about what happened. But … don’t worry! … we’ve got some nice Christmas music for you as you trudge out of the stadium that was built so we could compete with the biggest clubs in Europe, not become fodder for them.

Extract from Arseblog today. Too harsh or do you agree?

Not harsh enough. Death metal shits all over Chris Rea as well.

How’s it to harsh ? This club is rotten to the core with mediocrity, it’s going to get to the stage that top 6 will feel like a sense of achievement for the fans, which ultimately is probably what the Arsenal ownership want.

You’ve absolutely ruined any humour I might have been able to find in Eddie Hearn clips. I’d be pleased if I never saw his face again, though that still probably says more about him than it does how often you’re posting him lol.
