Arsenal Football Club History

The decision not to award Hleb a penalty in the first game proved costly.

Thats what made it worse from such a massive high to then Liverpool going straight up the other end and getting a pen :joy::sob:

We over celebrated the goal. Needed an Adams or Freddie screaming at the players too switch on imo.
Wouldn’t have been able to get that far forward from the kick off. Wed of been set better.

We seem to do this a lot tbh.

Which season did this happen in Robbo?

Not sure Arsenal ever had a season where they conceded only 14 goals in the League, but in 98/99 they conceded 17 in the League.

That goal was as much poor defending as anything else. It’s a lovely shot but I think a better keeper is better positioned to be able to deal with that and what was Senderos doing giving Torres so much space to turn him and get his shot off.

So sure where to put this but the official Arsenal Twitter account is doing Arsenal reloaded matches.

On 18-1-2015 we started a game against city with Ospina, Hector, Mertesacker, Kos, Monreal, Coq, Cazorla, Chamberlain, Ramsey, Sanchez and Giroud.

The past 9 years of this club have been so fucking poor.

BT have just tweeted it

Absolutely robbed that night, fucking cunts. Was it Babel or Kuyt who dived to win a penalty (and we should have been given a blatant one in the first leg)?

I love Peter Drury but I prefer the original commentary from Clive haha

It was during the 2nd double season

Wait, Seaman only conceded 14 goals in 01/02?

Doesn’t sound right. We were shit defensively

On second thought, the likes of Richard Wright and Stuart Taylor played major roles that season. I can’t remember Safe Hands playing much at all.

Wasn’t it that season safe hands made one of the greatest saves of all time?

No that was the season after. 02/03. Paul Pesky-solido (ex Birmingham City shit)

As in the club’s second double (97/98) or Wenger’s second double (01/02)?

Edit - looks like we conceded thirty plus in each :man_shrugging:

Going through tables, and as I can remember, the 1998/1999 was our only Premier league season where we conceded under 20 goals (17).

Always so strange to hear (and I must say I’m kinda proud too) the comment on 6:54.

(Love these kits )

I think she means Wenger’s second double. It would be fair to assume that Seaman didn’t concede that many in 01/02 given the fact he didn’t play much.

The least he conceded in a league campaign was 17 in 98/99 (astonishing when you think about it)

The 98/99 home and away kits were incredible. Best kits of the last 25 years
