Itâs not even about resting players. Arteta has rotated well recently. The issue has been our performance, structured conservative approach and lack of innovation in our offensive game.
Every year we have a period of 3 consecutive league stinkers and it usually costs us. Hopefully this one will be different.
This is exactly why you canât write off Aston Villa doing a Leicester.
But Leicester was leading the pack and got the job done, itâs not even the same situation at all honestly. Leicester was also up there with most goals scored and least goals conceded (Not 1st, but like 2nd/3rd). They also didnât lose much.
What Villa would have to do is more catch-up, put pressure on, title leaders choking big club type run which is unprecedented for a âsmallerâ team.
(It also would be worse than Leicester, which is why I donât believe itâll happen. Otherwise I give up that weâll ever win this thing).
Need to win all our games in Feb, including Brentford and Spurs away. Then Iâll be confident again.
Iâm sure city wonât match it and even if they do, weâll be another month down with a 4 point lead.
I wonder if the team is too reliant on Mikel to tell them what to do in every situation. When things are going against us, do we have the players that sense that and automatically know what to do? Or do we start panicking and look lost?
We obviously have the points advantage but do we really have the mental capacity for this title race, time will tell. For now, all the familiar failings are there. When things start to get tough, Arsenal fold.
Maybe are scared of doing their own thing and something that is even small that Arteta doesnât like goes a bit bad and they will get a dressing down in front of everyone like a naughty school kid.
Arsenal schedule is still highly favourable and we should be able to win the PL.
I just hope we go on a run and make it convincing.
A 9-10 point lead over City right now (which was very much realistic and should have been attained) wouldâve given us such breathing room for the run in and wouldâve put tremendous pressure on City.
The 4 point lead we have now is nothing in this league and City wonât feel much pressure from it either. We draw two games and City win two, theyâre top of the table. Thatâs how fragile our 4 point lead is right now.
Add United at home to the list.
4 point lead can become a single point just with our trip to the etihad. We can be perfect in every other game and still end up in a squeaky bum situation from 4 points ahead.
7 was fine, 9 wouldâve been nice and was there for the taking.
Yeah. We got so casual since the Liverpool game it has virtually thrown away our advantage.
The only thing possible stopping Arsenal from winning trophies this season is Arsenal.
We all know how this story ends. Seen it 21 times already.
Itâs not looking good brev.
Saw a positive spin on insta, thought its needed here.
Opened up the gap over the last 5 as shite as weâve felt.
But that in itself is worrying for professionals trying to get a pretty serious achievement over the line.
My boss dresses me down, I just curse under my breathe and get on with it.
Three teams struggling for form.
West Ham, Chelsea and united the only three teams with two wins on the bounce currently.
Newcastle the only team in the whole league with three wins in that sequence.
Opta seems confident
Same ones who had Marseille 94% chance of qually? ![]()
City below Villa is madness as well. Reality for me would be 50% Arsenal, 40% City and 10% Villa.
Villa having a higher chance than City.
Lol ok.
This is where stats make no sense and the Americanization of football is sad. No way Villa has a higher chance then City to become Champions.
