Says she defects to the Tories. What makes Frank Hester’s racism more palatable?
Hedging bets me thinks.

Same here. Not had a single Conservative leaflet through my door either.
Maybe because my constituency has been a Conservative stronghold for nearly two centuries.
Our Tory MP (who is a John Major-era fella and not one of the headbangers) hasn’t campaigned at all. I get the feeling he’s not trying. Not seen one Conservative banner in what has been a safe Tory seat for decades.
I haven’t seen banners at all in my constituency, which unfortunately is the norm here. Our new Tory and Lib Dem candidates didn’t even attend a local hustings lol. Christ sake.
The Tory/Labour/Lib Dems candidates aren’t even local. Which is a big problem (Personally). Craig Mackinlay was never around and local concerns were just ignored. I can’t wait for the Labour council and MP (in waiting) to fumble the issues here (Housing development mainly) and we flip to a Tory council. I talk shit about about Lib Dems and they get some flack for their NIMBY tendencies but at least rooted in that is listening to their people (Somewhat).
Now that I think about it, the best council I’ve seen here was a UKIP led one, which didn’t do a damn thing but didn’t piss off anyone either. Man, standards are low.
Councillors are generally inept at their job. Pool of capable ones is tiny, these people shouldn’t really have authority of local government bodies.
150 seat majority - Absolutely stonking
The Lib Dems beating the Tories would be sensational. Davey wants to spend on improving social care and support for carers. Imagine an opposition that would actually challenge stitching up the most vulnerable as both Labour and the Tories do / plan to.
I still don’t think Labour will beat the Tories by more than 350 seats. It’s still a good thumping but there are too many marginal constituencies this time round for me to trust even MRP polling.
Plus the weather is looking rough in the north of England and across Scotland on polling day which might affect turnout up there.
Agree, a small positive while Labour will most likely continue the Universal Credit disaster.
I don’t think the press would know how to handle it. What are they going to do? Start calling the Lib Dems communists?
Heads would straight up fall off at the Mail and the Express.
They’d photoshop Ed Davey in front of the Kremlin.
Just checked the forecast. A bit of rain is a pretty pathetic excuse to not vote tbh. Its not even cold it’s the middle of summer
Won’t happen I don’t think.
2010 their voters bottled, I think same will happen.
Tories will get loads of voters on polling day as people bottle on the ballot box
That might happen but even if they got
5% more nationally than predicted it might not mean a single extra seat.
When Blair won the election against Major he had the backing of the Sun because Murdoch thought Labour were a centre party he could tolerate.
Also Blair was very popular with the public so a lot of the media wanted to be associated with him rather than go against him.
But although Starmer will win this election by a similar landslide, it’s not because he’s the leader of a popular party, it’s just that they’re against the worst Tory government most people have seen…

For me, it has to be Liz Truss. Because the country will forgive any amount of cruelty to the vulnerable, the country will ignore any amount of corruption and they’ll forget about Partygate in the ballot box but if there’s one thing the Tories shouldn’t have done, they shouldn’t have fucked with middle class people’s mortgages.
I’d have liked a few options on this poll, think it can’t be reduced to just one of these.
But if picking just one, I’m with you on Truss

No reason we can’t do both
