Youri Tielemans

I really love one down season completely warps people’s minds of what a player can be capable of.

The Mahrez paradox.

Hell who am I kidding, I remember people hating the idea of replacing Giroud with Vardy back in the day. I remember Giroud hating that. No wait I remember Vardy hating that.

Spot on

Happy with this buy.

Was Leicester’s best player last season.

5th place in the league and FA Cup winner

Fuck, that’d shit me up.

Jaya Mama did well to get that far tbf

He wouldn’t be my first choice but Edu/Arteta have earned some trust on talent evaluation.

I think a lot depends on what you hear about the player’s personality and whether you think he can commit a bit more to improving off the ball in the right team. His quality on the ball is not a question for me.

Btw, just like with Madders, the tears of Leicester fans are gonna be so sweet.

“I don’t mind if he leaves but I would really disappointed if he goes to Arsenal.”
“Guys, why would he downgrade by going to Arsenal?”
“As far as I’m concerned, Leicester to Arsenal is a side step.”

A year ago our own fans were convinced they were a bigger club than us in this modern landscape

Btw, another Sun Exclusive coming through.

I feel every exclusive they’ve had turned out factual and then others ran with it.
Funny considering their reputation.

How are we allowed to speak with his agents? Is he a free transfer?

I assume Leicester have allowed him to do so. Similar to Dortmund allowing Haaland visiting Barca and Madrid to chat about potential moves.
Leicester know they’ll have to sell him in the summer.

Lmao used to drive me insane.

Man that argument was beyond exhausting. I’m not sure what was worse for me, defending Arteta or defending our supremacy over Leicester. Either way I was right on both counts lol.

Tbf to Tielemans, in the matches against Roma I think he might have been their best player and he did work hard. So it could be a motivation issue.
Granted, I’m not particularly excited about someone who picks and chooses when to put a shift in and when not to.

Rather interesting how Brendan has been loyal to him this season regardless of how poor he has been. You can say Brendan doesn’t have it in hin to be ruthless but we saw him be ruthless with Madders, Soyuncu, Iheanacho and others.

Arteta plays Xhaka all the time so the athletic intensity is not at all critical

In the absence of others that offer the same qualities yeah, doesn’t mean too much tbh

Tielemans isn’t a great athelte from what I’ve seen, doesn’t get around the pitch awfully well and that’s something that should be paramount for us

Doesn’t mean he can’t do well but all things being equal I value a high degree of athleticism

No way, football first. Athleticism second.

You’re telling me you don’t want a Xabi, Xavi, Pirlo, Santi, Modric over some bitch who can run?

It’s not the same thing is it? He’s not that class of player or anywhere close

And like I said all things being equal

Main difference here is that Xhaka does work hard and is known for his engine. It’s not an effort issue.
The issue is that he’s as immobile as they come. Same issue we had with Ceballos hence why Arteta decided to move on last summer.

Let’s hope Arteta gets his fat ass to work, especially ahead of the World Cup.
