Lost track of him over the years a bit and I guess he hasn’t been super last couple of years, but when he was 17/18-ish, I had him on my wishlist along with Salah and Mane.
Last season was his best season which culminated with his winning goal against Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
At the time, some regarded him as the best central midfielder in the PL. I remember Liverpool fans twerking for him last summer.
I don’t doubt he is a very talented player but he’s pretty shite defensively. Granted, Xhaka used to be shit altogether too but Emery and especially Arteta later on got a tune out of him.
So it could be that his previous coaches(Jardim, Martinez and Brendan) don’t know how to coach him.

This is pretty much my assessment of him too, though I reckon I’d take him. He seems like the type that would do well in a City system which is the type of players I’d like us to target. Granted he needs to up his fitness and defensive prowess as you say but a lot of that could be down to being disinterested in life with the Foxes.
If this down season could be reflected in his price then for me it would be a great buy.

He was very good against us. Him and McGinn were their best players on the day.
Youri’s lazy ass is costing Leicester goals. And he has a tendency of doing that against Spurs, never a good sign.
Prick gifted them 3 points this season.

If Tielemans is the only midfield signing then that’s worrying for me, Partey can’t be relied upon fitness-wise and Tielemans is incapable of fulfilling that role

Not the biggest fans of Youri Tielemans but if it’s between signing Tielemans or extending Elneny, we should absolutely be going for Tielemans.
At the moment it looks like the club wants both things to happen.
