Socila media is a cunt and has got me into some trouble over the years. Deactivated Facebook years ago, awful awful thing.
Still use instagram as I follow a lot of chefs /food and mountain bike related things, aside from that it’s awful habit of scrolling.
I use insta for information and tips for my hobbies and interests, rather than looking at my mates photos. In that regard it’s quite useful.
It’s because he’s aspiring to material and societal ambitions that yourself as a Scotsman simply don’t possess. As the old Scottish Budhist saying goes ‘To want more than a Litre of Teachers and half a pound of Deep Fried Heroin is to suffer in life’.
.
Ah this is my cue for saying that’s because you don’t have any mates ![]()
The key is to only use Twitter where everyone knows that they’re in for a cesspool of shit where everybody is a dumb cunt, yourself included.
And you clown eachother for it.
Messenger is comfortably the tool that I spend way to much time on, just group chats talking shit majority of the time.
What is Messenger? Facebook Messenger?
Yeah the app through Facebook basically, it’s often how I communicate with mates now rather than WhatsApp or the old fashioned text.
how do you think I feel?
they are out singing most days
Yeah that’s pretty much me as well. There isn’t a single person I follow on instagram that I know in real life haha, I have zero interest in watching them pretend to have great lives haha. I just use it for inspiration and to get tips and ideas about personal interests.
Facebook I ditched years ago and just reactivate it if I need something from the groups I’m in, like if I want to get updated on what’s going on with the maintenance in my apartment building or if I want to ride share.
I agree with the overall sentiment that social media is a toxic cesspit. I would cheer the day it ceases to exist louder than the day we win the title again.
My instagram is almost entirely dogs, rabbits and goats. Wonderful for the mental health.
I’ve come to realise this. Some of my happiest friends are the ones who don’t have social media or the ones that rarely use it
I got rid of my facebook account in about 2013/2014, don’t use any other social media and don’t plan on using them either
The fact that it’s annual review season at work. So not only do I have to talk to my manager and act like I’ve engaged in self-reflection, I have to then go through that same shit all over again but from the other side of the table with the four people I manage.
Just cannot be fucked at all with work after this year. I desperately need my time off over Xmas, the last day of work on the 22nd can’t come soon enough.
Same here. The last month of work has dragged so much after this last year, I’ve never experienced anything like it. I’ve been so demotivated and demoralised, literally cannot wait a day longer before my holiday.
Which is lucky, because I’ve just driven up to Suffolk for a week long getaway and while I’ve taken a couple of calls from the car my holiday basically starts today (although I’ll still be checking my emails periodically over the Christmas period).
Packed a old carpet into the car yesterday for the local tip.
Wife took it down as I was in work. Asked one of the lads when she got there for a hand getting it out. Was heavy.
Lad refused saying it would mean everyone would expect a hand.
My wife came back unable to lift it. Today I delivered it back on the floor and knocked on the hut for them to pick it up. Pricks.
I’d help if they asked me for a hand but to refuse, when you actually work there, seems ridiculous.
They’re not exactly overworked, what else has he go to do?
IKEA flat packs.
Instructions are shit for some complicated steps you need to follow.
That’s your problem right there, using them in the first place
