Yeah, and you should. Honestly, I can’t see this being an actual proper match. And I doubt anyone wants Austin going long with fucking Owens.
Should be done in 5 mins. Austin should no sell whatever KO gives him, Lou Thesz press from Austin and then a stunner, crowd goes nuts, go home.
Steve Austin wouldn’t come out of retirement to job to Owens at WrestleMania in Texas. He’s not hard for cash, he’s happy and he’s healthy. I just cannot understand why 19 years after retiring he’d turn around and say “yep. Body is old, I’m nearly 60 but this sounds the right time for me to come out of retirement”.
Austin was deeply self critical as a wrestler he quit because he didn’t think his body had it in him anymore and he never wanted to look old and washed in the ring.
Oh, he certainly ain’t laying down for KO.
The man didn’t want to lay down for Lesnar, even if he somehow wanted to do good by the business I doubt Vince would allow Steve having an L against Kevin.
I love Austin but I don’t want to see him come out of retirement. Like Michaels, his retirement was near perfect and he was still at the height of his powers. I don’t want to see that tarnished. I think we’ve all learned from Undertaker’s quest for a perfect retirement match at that stage of his career the danger of going a match too far.
Still weird that Taker had his final match against AJ.
I feel like that cinematic type of match could have saved the embarrassment in previous years.
And then AEW copied that format for that horrendous street fight Sting and Darby had against Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page.
Men of the Year is such boring shit. Channel changers for me.
Sting and Darby though.
Those two ooze class. I love how they interact with Punk and don’t feel out of place or beneath him.
Should have given the tag titles to them rather than Tarzan Boy and Nickelodeon Vibora.
Don’t put the belts on Santana and Ortiz, either.
Even Jericho and MJF had more reason to be tag champs when they were on the same page than these two no marks
Yeah, it’s a massive disservice to the tag division. I get that they want to further the 4 pillars story though.
I assume a fatal 4 way between is in the plans at some point. Otherwise, Sammy and Jungle Boy wouldn’t be where they are right now.
Darby and especially MJF are just on another level for me.
The biggest match at the biggest PPV in wrestling history. If Austin doesn’t turn heel this night - then it’s perfection.
Austin - Rock at X7 is a 5 star match and better than anything wrestling has produced in a long long time. An incredible story, rivalry and subsequent match.
As over as The Rock was he was never more over than Austin at their peaks.
There are nerds out there trying to rewrite history though due to Rock’s current status…
Austin was next level of over back in the day.
To think he was a bigger draw than DX when they were doing their thing and The Rock when he was bursting onto the solo career scene, it’s remarkable.
Bret is the GOAT, though
Yep. The Rock is undoubtedly a bigger mainstream star now but at their peaks Austin was a pop culture icon and the biggest draw in the history of wrestling.
He also had a wider appeal than The Rock did.
What is Cody exactly doing here?
His absence the past shows has been odd. Is he and Brandi a package still? She has her own story with Dan it seems? Did Tony throw him a bone with that TNT title reign?
So confused over what’s happening with this.
Honestly, I would love for him to leverage WWE giving into his demands. There’s a spot open for the WWE Title at WM.
It’s happening
So no Brandi v Paige van Zandt now.
So Fightful confirmed he is going back to WWE.
That’s the first guy going from AEW to WWE.
This could definitely start a chain reaction within AEW. There are a lot Cody “guys” in that company.
The guy was a freaking EVP, whatever the fuck that meant. WarnerMedia was also very keen on the guy for projects outside wrestling.
Big payday coming Codys way?
Don’t care for him but fair play. This sort of leverage Wrestlers been lacking since WCW.
