The USA isn’t really a capitalist country. We have capitalism for individuals but socialism for corporations.

MLS has so many whacky cap rules and regs that part of the intrigue with the sport is seeing which club can build the best team within those rules. The NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB are all the same to a degree with that. Clubs hire “capologists” to crunch numbers and make sure they can be competitive.
