William Saliba (2)

We really need this man back and fit for the start of next season. Said as much when the news broke but the back problem really concerns me. Hope it isn’t a big issue down the line.

Blessing that it seems like he won’t need surgery and I really hope it isn’t one where they try and put it off and then he has to get it anyway

Saliba’s contract remains unsigned. Hopefully there’s a bit of progress on that front in the summer, but it doesn’t sound like Arsenal are making any inroads.

Hopefully these ITK’s don’t have a Scooby and its all but had it’s Christopher Nolan directed announcement video shot

Why would he sign a new deal though? His agent is probably telling him to wait it out. It’s not like his stock is dropping since he went out injured.

Now the title is basically definitively done I can devote all my energies into worrying about him not signing a new contract.

Lads gonna dip on a Bosman lol

Lol, he really is. PSG and Madrid already in his ear, or more specifically his agent’s ear.

Madrid absolutely loves these free transfers. Rudiger and Alaba aren’t getting any younger. Militao could use a future partner. His idol is Varane. Kinda checks out.

Has seemed likely for a while tbh. He’s proved he can handle himself at the top level.

Jake is right. This has bosman to Madrid written all over it.

If he doesn’t sign this summer, we are actually fucked.

Not going anywhere I think

I do stand by my point that the club is looking at the CBs they are with Saliba’s situation in mind. Dudes like Simakan and Guehi could very well cost 40-50m.

Big regression if he leaves. We shouldn’t have passed 2 years of his or our life away with those loans.

And we also shouldn’t have played him Vs sporting

Will have to pay him a premium to stay

15 posts of arsenal fans Pazzing about the Saliba contract situation is not what I needed to feel better today.

There’s nothing to suggest he’d have become the player he is today without those loans, the confidence he got from that experience alone, makes it the right decision, the big issue for me, is how our system requires both Saliba and Gabriel to stay fit, for us to not leak goals.

I absolutely guarantee you, you see a similar slump of form with Saliba or Tomiyasu in the team.

It’s too naive to just link this all to Saliba getting injured imo. Lacks a lot of context.

Surprised so many expect him to leave, the guy’s got it good here and nothing to suggest he’d be better off at PSG other than financially. Can see Madrid in the future sure.

He’ll get a big pay packet from us if his back looks alright and that’ll be the end of it. I expect us to throw a few more rumours out about signing CB’s to make it seem like we’re less desperate for him but all a bit of posturing.

Seems to love it here so why would he do us dirty after 1 season? Arsenal fans really worry about everything

He’s gonna stay. He isn’t ready for the elite clubs yet. He’s still young and has mistakes in him. Some ‘experts’ make out like he’s perfect when he’s far from. He should stay for another few years and I think he will.
