Why are people surprised that the first bid is low? Did they expect that we’d offer 60m right out of the gate? And there’s also no way that the installments over five years thing is true, zero chance.
We tend to be an absolutely atrocious club with the way we behave in the market, but bashing us for this opening bid is just silly.

Arsenal have needed to fix the defence and midfield for years.
We’ve gone into seasons with incomplete squads for years.
So knowing this, I’ll take a good player whenever we can get one, even if it’s not in the #1 most desperate position, because not signing Zaha isn’t going to mean we’re now targeting £60m centre backs instead.
Easier to have 9 good players and be in desperate need of a midfielder and centre back, than to have 5 good players and be in need of a midfielder and centre back and 4 good players.

One of my favourite press conferences I’ve seen was when AVB was at Sp*rs and had a go at Ashton for a headline which indicated Villas Boas had said “The players should be ashamed of their performance” when he had actually said “we should be ashamed of our performance”. Ashton predictably pretended that he had no clue what the issue was in changing that quote.
Even though it was the Tottenham manager, I enjoyed seeing someone have a go at that slimey prick.

Couldnt sleep last night. The fact that Zaha will be rocking the Emirates this season kept me awake all night.

I think one of the funniest things is that their apparent valuation of Zaha seems to increase by £20m every week or so.
At the start of the window it seemed to be 60, then it was 80, last week it was suddenly 100, and now this article says it’s 120

My 50% positive is that he’s a proven PL talent. Always easier to transfer within the PL and a player to adapt
