Also, because it’s you I have the urge to rip you for not cropping out the rest of the screen!!

I’ve become a free-kick specialist :xhaka2:

@Craigie it’s actually not that hard!

Nice! What overall level are you on?

I hate the training sessions, they’re such a pain but pretty essential.

My biggest mistake was taking a transfer from Inter to Bayern. At Inter I had a high rating across my fans, manager and team which meant during games I had so many chances to bulk my goals and assists up.

Now at Bayern everyone seems to hate me and appear to only get 2-3 changes a game to do something. Most of the time it’s that annoying dribble.

38 now.

I only hate the pace training. For some reason I suck at it. I’m stuck on 47/60.

Pace is a bitch too! I’ve got this far.

Look, if it was a meme or something, 100%. But the puspose of this screenshot was to show a notification that popped up on my screen, I didn’t think it necessary to crop while wrapped up in the sheer excitement of the moment.

But fair cop prolly tbh guv, I’ve walked into that one.

@Bl1nk show us ya stats over the seasons. Everyone knows that’s the true gold standard, not full points on free kick training.

Won the Europa League as a League One side lol, beating Roma and Arsenal on the way and Juventus in the final. Also won the World Cup with England, beating Spain in the final, scoring the winning penalty after a 4-4 draw.

Also got this achievement in the course of the season

Edit: that was my fourth season on the game, nineteen years old lol

Just popping back to say that I’ve been playing New Star Manager a lot and it is absolutely sick, a different, but arguably better game than New Star Soccer.

You pretty much keep the NSS gameplay in match but it also throws in a lot of Football Manager Lite type mechanics, with you managing every facet of the club, including training transfers, hiring of staff, sponsorship deals, stadium and facility upgrades.

Definitely recommend getting it, it’s a great timewaster but has more depth to it than NSS.

One tip for anyone starting up a game:

Don’t spend the money you have on purchasing players during transfer windows. For the first couple seasons you’re better served by upgrading your facilities and hiring staff. Get a decent youth coach and every eight games or so you can use him to generate a youth player, who is obviously free. They’re about as good as the players in your squad but have greater potential for growth via the playing of training cards. Also hire a decent scout and when the transfer window is closed he’ll only scout free agents, so then you only have to spend your money in wages in not a fee.

If you do sign players, or if you’re looking to focus on developing certain players, then go for goalkeepers and defenders. In match game play is limited to midfield and attacking phases of play. When it comes to defending you have to set your team focus to “counter” or “defence” and hope for the best.

You’ll find you can make do with the attackers you have and still score goals with regularity, once you’re used to playing the game, but you have no control over defending, meaning that a poorly rated keeper and defenders are guaranteed to concede goals when you move up the leagues. I’m up in League One now and I’m usually conceding two goals a game and relying on being very clinical up front. I have lower rated players than most other sides in the division because its hard to upgrade your squad significantly. You can make up for that by playing well in the attacking phases and scoring goals, but you your fate is in the hands of the AI when the other team attacks.

Such a fun game though. So good to play while you’ve got some shit like Love Island on the telly that requires about a tenth of your brain capacity to follow.

Is it just me who hates playing games on their mobile because of battery anxiety? :joy:
