I said mid table and, if out of the top six is mid table, then that’s where we’ll be.
Although our recent form is above that level, the failure of Emery as well as the remnants of the Wenger team and the useless board, have meant Arteta wasn’t really going to drag us much higher than that for this season at least.

Doesn’t that mean 1-5 (minus City) get CL, and 6-7 get EL?

I think the only way a team outside the top 7 can have EL is to win the FA cup?

Edit: Oh I forgot City won the league cup too, I guess that means 8th goes into the first qualifying round or something?

Regardless of our issues, finishing 8th is a massive failure.

10 losses, 14 draws, goal difference of mere 8.

Sheffield United lost 3 matches in a row, else we would have been 9th.
Same with Burnley.

Arsenal board & Arteta need to deliver next season.

I said after a few games we could finish around mid table or even just above the relegation places if we didn’t change Emery.
So, although we did get a new manager and a top half place, we won fewer games than any other top half club, apart from Sheffield United who won the same.

I just hope Kroenke is watching the shambles he has presided over and will back Arteta with what he needs to get us out of mid table and back to where we belong, challenging for the PL title.
