Iāve been a few times and lived there for a year or two as well so Iām sure I can help. Unsure what you are into but here are some options for you to consider:
- Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque - the architecture is incredible and looks even more stunning in the night once the lights are on.
- Louvre Abu Dhabi - Art and Civilisation museum.
- Saadiyat Public Beach / they also have private beach clubs
- The Corniche Beach and Walk - usually I cycle there at sunset for the city views.
- Mangrove National Park - can do couple of acttvites there like kayaking or paddleboard
- Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld - my favorite. Good set of rides, well worth it.
- You can do day trips from Abu Dhabi to desert for safari experiences.

Iāve only ever done a day trip to Abu Dhabi so Iām probably not best placed to advise. Iāve done Dubai 7 times though so could throw a million things at you

Corfu looks very nice!
Due to the crazy amount of stags and weddings we had last year, we had to postpone our own honeymoon to this year and weāre finally heading off in September for 2.5 weeks.
Weāre going to Hawaii (Maui and Kaui) with a stop in San Diego on the way back for my wifeās friends wedding.
Our British Airways Amex companion vouchers coming in clutch as weāre flying business class return to San Diego from London.
I cannot wait after what has been one of the most difficult and stressful years of my life.

Just bumped into an old mate from uni Iāve not seen in like 15 years in a beachside restaurant in Corfu. Love these āsmall worldā moments when they randomly occur.

Weāre off to Berlin on Monday for a few days, our second trip there. Weāve got a few things planned, last time we did the tourist stuff, this time weāve got a few bars, restaurants and beer gardens in mind.
It looks like itās going to rain on Tuesday so any recommendations for interesting bars (we like beer and cocktails on holiday) would be appreciated. We like dingy places. Shiny, posh bars are not for us.
Not sure that Butlins Skegness for a 90s weekender constitutes a holiday, but that is where Iām off to Next Friday. Has anybody been to one?
Leaving work at 3.45, getting there for just after 7. Have to come back late Sunday or super early on Monday though as need to be back in the classroom at 8.30am. Should be messy.

My friend says that he used to go raves at Butlins back in the day and that theyāre actually pretty good fun haha
Apparently theyāve realised thereās a market to cornered with millennials and Gen Xāers who still want to get their rave on, but want to stay close by in a real bedroom lol

Been roaming around in Indonesia and so far Gili Air has been my favourite stay so far. Really friendly people, puts my manners to shame. Incredible scenery, not overcrowded.

God that is beautiful - what part of Indonesia is that? Iām only really familiar with Bali and itās been over 20 years since I went there. Quite a few of my friends still go to Indonesia for surf holidays but they say itās getting absolutely overrun by Aussies.

Gili Air is part of the Gili Islands, which consists of three islands, located just Nortwest coast of Lombok!
I did a week or so in Bali prior to arriving here (just before the major floods in Ubud) and found it too overcrowded, a lot of littering which was sad to see and plenty of drunk Aussies lol.
For surfers I highly recommend Kuta in Lombok or Bangko, South West of Lombok. I think Lombok is what Bali use to be a decade or so ago. Senggigi is still undeveloped in terms of infrastructure but Kuta Lombok is thriving.

I absolutely hated Bali when I went. I just didnāt see the hype it was dirty, overcrowded, food wasnāt good and it was just loaded with drunk Aussies.

You mustāve only gone to kuta or seminyak? Definitely a lot of dirty areas but those are the two full of Aussies.
Only just seen all the Bali chat so bit late but Lombok and the giliās are easily the best bit. @Mercenary how long did you spend there and did you spend any time actually on the main Lombok island? Itās so peaceful and Iām told what Bali was like 20 years ago.
As for main Bali island, Uluwatu and the entire area south of the airport is beautiful. Canggu great for a 4/5 day party sesh and Ubud for 4/5 days in the woods relaxing. Also loads of spots in the north above Ubud but theyāre hard to reach.
Would easily go back in another year or two, love the food as well.
Edit - just read the rest of your post and clearly did go on the main Lombok island 
glad you got to see it as well, most donāt go!
I went to Ubud in Bali for my honeymoon nearly ten years ago now and it was one of, if not, the best places I have travelled to on earth before. Sounds like a mini-hellscape from recent conversations.
On a separate note, Iām due to go to Italy in a bit and have been floored on the price of cabs/taxis out there! We moan about the cost of train fare in the UK - Italy is like the upside-down world but with can fares.
