Also you’ll all be chuffed to hear that James Bond will be written a lot more with the me too movement in mind and that it’ll be a reflection of the changing times
went to see Detective Pikachu, really enjoyed it and it was pretty cool seeing all the Pokemon how I imagined them to be as a kid wanting to be a pokemon trainer
Rim of the World on Netflix. Alien Invasion flick with kids as the heroes. Actually really good.
Us (2019)
Another good horror flick by Jordan Peele, albeit with a confusing ending.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Rewatching the Lord of the Rings trilogy. That shit remains timeless. Excellent piece of work by Peter Jackson.
Stockholm (2019)
A man walks into a bank in 1970s Stockholm and asks for a man currently in prison to be released and be allowed to join him in taking hostages in the bank.
=======
Based on a true story and is the case where the term ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ comes from.
Was expecting the film to be less comical and more heavy. Was disappointed.
Lock, stock and two smoking barrels 1998
I wonder what happened to Guy Ritchie for him to work on something like Aladin.
Rewatched The Dark Knight the other day. Classic. So many quality scenes.
Ma. Group of college kids need someone to buy drink for them and a random woman purchases it for them.
She then gives them her basement to hang out in and party. Joins in but she has a historical revenge plot linked to the kids parents.
Not the greatest script but acted well and moved at a decent pace. Enjoyed it as was watched in the cinema and that sometimes just focuses you better to watch. 7 or 8 out of ten.
Triple Frontier.
5 former DEA-agents return to Colombia on a private mission to kill and rob a drug Lord. With Ben Affleck. Also Pedro Pascal which is very disturbing if you follow the Narcos series An ok movie with a few plot holes. 3/5.
The trailer made this look brilliant but I actually thought it was complete poo. Charlie Hunnam didn’t even get his arse out.
Thor was on a few weeks ago and me and the gf ended up watching it as we’d never seen it. Because I’d only seen a handful of the MCU films we decided to go through all the films, watching them in chronological order in terms of plot, rather than by release date.
So we’ve now watched five or so films, with the first Avengers film up next, and Captain Marvel being skipped as we couldn’t find a decent torrent for it yet.
So… The Incredible Hulk has the worst IMDB rating of all of them we’ve seen so far, but I thought it was one of the best I’ve seen yet. Tonally it felt quite different to other MCU films I’ve seen, so perhaps that’s a factor in it having a lower rating from fans. Perhaps the fact that it doesn’t retain the same lead actor doesn’t help too.
As cool as Mark Rufallo is, Ed Norton is just top notch. I totally bought the isolation and anguish that Bruce Banner was experiencing, and totally invested in the character in a way that I often don’t with the human alter ego of superheroes. Not sure what went wrong, but I wish Ed Norton was in the later films, he’s such a class actor. Liv Tyler is very meh imo, but Tim Roth was absolutely sick and I quite liked him as a villain compared to your more typical sort of hench, physically imposing beast like Vanko/Whiplash (even though he was cool too). Ed Norton and Tim Roth are both very charismatic leads and carried this film well.
It also had some great action scenes and The Hulk is one of the best, most badass characters in the MCU.
I’m done rambling now, but basically, I reckon The Incredible Hulk is very underrated for some reason I don’t fully appreciate.
Maradona.
Amazing documentary film which I highly recommend everyone on this forum to watch. It’s a really enjoyable watch which shows you the good, the bad and the ugly of one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
After watching it, I appreciate his incredible talent even more and also understand his quite dramatic decline too.
I loved it too!
I love Ed Norton and everything he is in and was sad when he didn’t come back but apparently it boiled down to his ego. He started making crazy demands to come back as the Hulk and the MCU hadn’t really taken off like that so they couldn’t offer him the RDJ money that he wanted.
The soundtrack for one was quality.
Ed Norton was apparently a dick to work with and kept changing the script.
The rest of the MCU seems to have moved on, so the film doesn’t have much to tie it in with the rest so I skip it all the time.
But yeah it is a bit underrated. Better than Thors 1 and 2.
Captain Marvel was shit
I didn’t really dig the first Thor film tbh. Hoping I enjoy the next two more…
Thor Ragnarok is bloody awesome. First one was ok. Didn’t watch Dark World.
Yeah I’ve heard a lot of good things about Ragnarok, sadly kinda suspect the second will be meh for me so pinning a lot on Ragnarok being good lol
