Anyone seen The Creator? Is it worth my time?
Am I even allowed to ask in this thread, considering it isn’t the last film I’ve watched, (unless we’re doing some kind of Tenet, Momento, 12 Monkeys type shit? )

No, sorry. You have broken the sacred OA rule of straying very mildly off topic. For shame sir.
(I haven’t seen the film but i do remember thinking the trailer looked shit)
Ive actually seen this one twice. It’s pretty good and a very very mild commentary on some of the problems in Saudi Arabia.
Witches was on BBC1 earlier.
It was the 2020 remake and obviously not a patch on the original but a ok watch non the less
So you’re saying you watched Liverpool vs Newcastle, including the rerun?
Game’s barely finished dude.
Badly joking aside, sounds interesting. TH is a safe bet as he is rarely appearing in a bad movie.
I see what you’ve done there.
Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning
I actually really love Tom Cruise movies - they’re my guilty pleasure - and this one was no exception - Pom Klementieff is a bit of alright, but I’ve never seen her in anything else.
Why’d they have to kill off Rebecca Ferguson? She’s wonderful. Sad! (She’s not cast as being in part 2 so I guess she really is dead… but with films and telly as they are - they’ll probably bring her back)
Decent little film
Plane
Passable brains switched off shite for a Saturday night. Fairly decent for a one off watch. Noticed The Wire alumni Spiros in possibly the only other thing I’ve ever seen him in.
Saltburn.
Pile of shit.
2/10
Oh my god, did you not think WTF?
Like when he did you know what to the grave?
Yes, I did think “wtf am I watching”
It’s doing what it set out to- to get people talking. Otherwise, it doesn’t really have a “rewatchability”.
Shame really, cos Barry Keoghan’s a good actor
Yeah this is the takeaway. I mean, we already knew that, but this confirms it. He said the dance scene at the end was spontaneous. But it worked i think.
Asteroid City.
After I watched The French Dispatch which I found disappointing, and really dull, I was looking forward to seeing if Wes Anderson could get me back on side - then I watched Asteroid City and realised he probably can’t. The characters were annoying and not funny, though they tried to be in that characteristic Wes Anderson quirky way, the story was boring - I didn’t care about the stories nor the people in them, but at least it looked really nice as his films always do. Lastly, there is 100% less Lea Seydoux than his last film which is a negative.
We’ll always have that Budapest Hotel.
I absolutely loved Saltburn. Not what I was expecting at all. Very solid 8/10 from me. Barry Keoghan was excellent along with all the supporting cast.
What happened to you, Invincibles? You used to be somebody I could trust.
Yeah. I’m not a fan of Wes Anderson. Quirky for quirky’s sake. I think he does it to disguise his limitations as a director.
Paul King is far better at being Wes Anderson.
No i actually think hes a legit crackpot.
I know you can’t trust anything they say in an interview but any actors who work with him legit seem to love him. And he has many who return to work with him regularly then keeps drawing in bigger stars like Tom Hanks who say much the same.

Actors don’t have to like the director for the director to be any good.
I’d take Hitchcock, Kubrick, even Aronofsky over him.
