I just didn’t get it. Self-indulgent, strange monologues that weren’t interesting. I get that it’s supposed to reflect the monotony of his work, but it was such a slog for me. I was bored as fuck basically.
Had a slow work free day and watched Indestructibles 4. So bad. I mean, the first movie had its quirks and comedic moments. This was just a train wreck. Predictable plot, bad acting (more bad than usual for this franchise), low budget effects.
1/5 Stepanovs.
Haven’t seen Napoleon yet but genuinely interested in watching it. I have two of Ridley’s films in my all time top five so I generally like his films. Napoleon is an interesting one though. Kubrick was planning a Napoleon film for ages but it never happened. I wonder whether the subject matter is simply too much for a single film. This is probably where a high budget TV series would give greater scope to do it justice.
It sounds like you found John Goodman’s performance interesting! He’s a versatile actor who can portray a wide range of characters. It seems like in this particular role, he played a convincing “bad guy.” The complexity and depth he brings to his characters often make for engaging performances. If there’s more you’d like to share about the movie or Goodman’s role, feel free to elaborate!
Saw Maestro recently. I think it’s available on Netflix now actually. Didn’t enjoy. It’s a Bradley Cooper vanity project (he directs the film too). Would rather give the award to Ryan Gosling for Barbie!
I recently watched the new Sandra Bullock film on Netflix, worth a watch. I like the idea, although I’m not one of these that likes an ending that leaves you guessing, it like it confirmed
