What was the last film you watched?

How to Get Ahead in Advertising (1989).

Not seen this for years and well worth another watch. Richard E. Grant on top form after reuniting with Director Bruce Robinson following the success of Withanail and I (one of my all time personal favourite films).

Whitnail and I was the classic go to film to go to sleep to after a night out. It must have streamed into my consciousness a few dozen times over the years but it’s now probably 10 years since I seen it. A classic!

I absolutely love it. One of the most quotable films of all time. Really recommend you watch it again. I used to watch it all the time with one of my flatmates after a night out. Ever done the drinking game? Tried it once and it didn’t end well!

It’s classified as a film but it’s only 40 minutes or so long but I watched Karl Meltzer: Made to Be Broken.

He ran the Appalachian Trail and beat the previous best time of 46 days. 2000+ miles.

A great watch!

That’s a good one. An unbelievable feat.

The Barkley Marathons is worth a watch too if you can find it.

Hopefully it’s better than The Irishman. Probably will be, as that’s not a particularly high bar to pass.

It looks like it’s going to be released in cinema the same weekend as the international break.

Everyone’s a winner, Rodders.

I thought The Irishman was excellent. Long but excellent.

Watched the Irishman when it first came out. Still watching it.

Didn’t like the film much in and of itself, but the decision to cast De Niro in the lead was a huge problem for me. De-aging technology can’t make him stop moving like a 75 year old. That scene of him giving that bloke a kicking was a particular lowlight.

It was self-indulgently long too.

I did quite enjoy Al Pacino and Stephen Graham in it though.

This is what put me off watching the movie having seen the trailer.

I watched Banjos of Enniskillen instead.

It never really bothered me that much. I just love all the main actors and thought this was a return to form for Scorsese.

It’s been a long time, General.
