What was the last book you read?

Power of Geography Tim Marshall
Read a few of his books now and never fails to deliver on aspects of this world. This time he focuses on ten regions likely to shape global politics in the next few years.
Doesnt matter on your ideals either because this just highlights how self centred and dependent and screwed up this world really is.
No agendas in his writing just factual reporting on the complexities and challenges we face. Very good chapter on the role of space as well and the role this will play.

Been reading a book on holiday by James Patterson with the help of Bill Clinton called the President is missing.
Tried it years ago but ended up leaving it and forgot about it so have started it again.
Its very good and hopefully ill make it all the way through this time!

I’ve read Prisoners of Geography, been meaning to check out sime of his other books. Found it to be very accessible without being too dumbed down, which really is the sweet spot for non-fiction.

Yeah definitely this. Easily accessible for people and you don’t get bogged down.
Divided age of walls was good. He actually done one out of left field on tales from the football terrace.

I picked up a copy of The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu. Sci-fi novel that won the Hugo award. It’s been likened to a modern day War of the Worlds and will latter be released as a TV show, twice, by Chinese and Western production companies.

Fahrenheit 451 (Ray Bradbury)

Not a bad book. Still a powerful message told, even all these years later.

I expected it to be slightly better. More in the way of cliffhangers.

6/10.

Carrying the fire- Michael Collins autobiography on his life as an astronaut and being the man who stayed on board Apollo 11 as Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the moon.
Really fascinating description of his time alone while they were down on the moon.
Strange finding out that the three of them only had a professional relationship during and the years after the mission.
Likeable personality and he made the book both engaging and inclusive as he could with rocket science.
Definitely one of them were certain aspects will stay with you.

I’m currently about half way through a book about the life of Thomas Cromwell and I’m loving it. I’ve neglected the Tudors for far too long.

I recently listened to a brilliant series of podcasts on the War of the Roses, goes into a little detail, lots I didn’t know.

What was the podcast? I love the war of the roses, epic entertainment.

David Starkey Talks is a great Youtube channel too on this period. Ignore his politics, but his scholarship is amazing.

Has he fucked Ireland yet?..oh wait, wrong Cromwell. Haha
