What are you watching?

How bout that bet? Just say if your faith in Starmer is wavering and I’ll leave you alone :face_blowing_a_kiss:

How about The White Lotus…this is borderline harassment lol

I will have a bet with you. I just need to work up a counter.

Borderline harrassment, you tart :joy:

We started off discussing a bet about Starmer winning an election, you didn’t like the terms and I offered you an even more favourable and easy to win bet that doesn’t even hinge on the result of the election, but instead is about him not even being in charge for it.

Either take the bet or don’t lol, what possible counter could you even want to offer to my most recent suggestion?

So series 1 of White Lotus improved in the seocnd half, but I still didn’t think it was anything particularly special.

We thought we’d give series 2 an episode to see if it grabbed us, and we much preferred it. Find the characters more interesting, and the plot more compelling. Just starting the final episode now, looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

Also, Lucia is so :fire:

Yes Jakey! The second series is better and the final episode is excellent. Enjoy!

Only The Brave

Around 20 minutes in, Jeff Bridges without a beard caught me off guard

I watched Adolescence and I thought it was quite meh. The best part of it was the episode with the therapist and the young lad. Superbly acted by both of them. Episode 4 was boring as hell. I don’t really care about the gimmick with the camera, technically well done as it was.

Honestly? I thought Stephen Graham’s similar show back in 2017 about the murder of Rhys Jones called Little Boy Blue was a superior effort to tell a story like this.

I thought the same. Very good without being exceptional. Best thing was the young lad (particularly given it was his first role) and Stephen Graham was very good too. Filming each episode as a single continuous shot will be unique to many, and I think this is the reason why the series got so many plaudits. Unfortunately it isn’t as ground breaking as people think. People just need to watch better films and TV!

Finished the third series of White Lotus. All very silly but pretty fun.

It’s basically a soap opera with an 18 classification and incredibly high production value.

I’d watch a fourth season. Fun for what it is, but not prestige telly by any stretch.

2 > 3 > 1 is my order of preference.

Did not enjoy Saxon and Lochy’s Full Moon Party experience at all.

Goat sho

Jumped into the last season of Black Mirror. A bit underwhelming to be honest.

I get what you mean.

They just don’t hit in the same way the early seasons did (i think because we’re sort of living through much of what it predicted now) and i really didn’t need the fakey star trek sequal…but it’s still truly excellent television in and of itself.

It’s shite. Watched a couple of episodes, not bothered to finish it off.

If you haven’t watched the one with Peter Capaldi you’re missing out.

The first episode was peobably the worst for me. Oh life is a subscription now, oh they put the price up, oh the plan you were on is now basic and you’re losing features that are now in the premium plan, blah blah blah. That one was so by the numbers.

Bete Noir, Plaything and Eulogy were good though. Paul Giamatti is a wonderful actor. Loved him since Sideways.

But yeah no doubt Black Mirror overall is a bit played out now. But I do love to see Charlie Brooker succeeding though, been a fan of his since way back in the Nathan Barley, Screenwipe/Newswipe days.

Feel as though all of the first for episodes could have been 30 minutes. I’m up to Episode 5.

Bete Noir (that’s the one with the bully victim right) only kept my attention because the lead actress is attractive. The film remake was awful. Episode four felt the closest to prime Black mirror as the plot twists were unexpected.

I think you’re right, because we live in an A.I. Age now, the plots no longer seem outlandish.
