I know there’s already a thread for it but I’ve started watching Ozark I’m 4 episodes in and I’m finding it hard to get into and can’t really connect with any of the characters finding them all a bit irritating.
I’ve never been much of a tv watcher more into movies and only started since covid started.
My question being is it worth the effort to carry on with the series or will it match up to Breaking Bad, Better call Saul or Sopranos type of viewing experience?
It’s good. But not that good.
Think I’ll give up then, I was going to start watching Game of Thrones but I was told the last series was a disappointment, so no point going there either
It depends on how important the eventual ending is to you. I’d recommend that you do watch it, as the first four seasons or so (maybe it was five, I don’t remember precisely) are really fucking good. You already know that it turns to shit, so when you feel that point approaching you cqn make a personal decision about whether it’s worth tour time continuing.
I think if you don’t watch things that everyone says ended badly, you’ll end up missing some quality television. Dexter’s ending was shit but I’d definitely recommend the first 3 or 4 seasons and suggest people stop there. House of Cards ended poorly but there are 2 or 3 seasons of that that are well worth watching.
House of cards I thought was great till the last series.
They had loads of scope with that character who was strong throughout too have done so much better.
I certainly enjoyed it up to the final season, but I do think it had been in a steady decline. An acceptable and slight decline, I should add.
For me it was at its best when Frank Underwood was working his way up to the big seat and it wasn’t quite as good from that point on.
Agreed with that assessment @JakeyBoy
The Apprentice
Sam the Scientist

No penguins

That was an absolute carcrash lol
It’s why I prefer movies I don’t really like to invest time into something that goes on and on, I’ve never really been a big tv watcher and before streaming and DVD’s never watched TV.
But I’ve got these box sets of Alan Partridge, the Office and the Thick of It I watch over and over again.
puts Jesseviolin at the top of his favourites list
I attempted several times to get into the Office, just never caught me. I think it’s meh.
Partridge is decent and Thick of It is GOAT.
I always think there is a distinction to be made with Alan Partridge. Although essentially the same character from The Day Today right through to the podcast I always see I’m Alan Partridge as the series that truly established the character and that’s the one I can watch over and over. The rest, while still good, isn’t at that same level for me.
Let’s not talk about the film…
Alan Partidge is horrifically unfunny
You’re wrong. That is all. ![]()
Oh I’ve gone for the lot books and audio books too, totally agree about the film though.
Saxondale was another gem of his too
