You’ve never met someone called Siobahn?!
I grew up in a predominantly Jewish suburb of Baltimore. Not a lot of Jewish women named Siobahn. You want a Rebecca? We got those. You want a Rebekah? We got those too. You want a Rebeca? We have those. Siobahns? Not so much.
What if I want a Joachim you got any of those??
How would you pronounce it?
Best I can do is a “Joshua” and a “Haim” (which is my brother’s Hebrew name)
@Phoebica probably “Neem” or “Name”
Eh close enough, I’ll take a Haim.
Niamh is pronounced “Neev” by the way. It’s a mind fuck.
Now try Aoife
Aoife = Eve?
Quite close to be fair.
Aoife = Eefa
That name is 80% vowels.
If we have another kid I’d put Saoirse back in the name pot. I do like all of those names. Are they Irish?
This is my Saturday night now because of the rona and now they have even taken my Saturday night football away from me!!!
You will read my stories about BBC1 Saturday night quiz shows !
I have now gone to BBC iPlayer and got The Wall on my TV
Yes.
Have a lash at Beibhinn. (That sounds a bit off, you know what I mean)
Berbiv?
I’m trying to be too clever and guessing the sounds.
Saoirse
I keep looking at this and want to pronounce ir ‘Suarez’ lol
Bay-veen. I’d never heard it myself until a friend started dating a girl by that name.
Just watched the second part of out of their skin.
Really good watch and informative opinions of back players from prem era.
Also some good insights on perceptions of players based on personality.
From an Arsenal point of view found the parts on Wrighty very good and Ashley Cole even more interesting.
Good watch both episodes and well put together.
Lovecraft Country on HBO
Really good, each episode is like a strange new adventure.
I can’t smoke weed because we get drug tested at work but I would both highly recommend and strongly discourage pairing it with this show. It’s got incredible visuals, some really emotional story telling, great characters and good jump scares. I know some people were critical of it because it wasn’t a “faithful” adaptation of Lovecraft’s work but I think that’s the whole point, I’m not really a Lovecraft expert or enthusiast.
