I have this fear too, Spurs are always set up well to sucker punch better teams. Still though pound for pound Pool are better in every position nearly and always raise their game to fuck at home.
It’s a mental game now, these two wins of ours will be in Spurs head.
Liverpool haven’t lost at Anfield in front of a crowd since 2017. No chance Spurs win there.
West Ham was the game I expected us to lose a few weeks ago, but now that they’re playing their semis both sides of that, we’ll probably beat their B team easily.
Actually the Newcastle away looks the hardest now. They’re on ridiculous form right now and that will be their last home game of the season.
I feel like this will come down to the last game, just like the good old days of Wenger.
For me success or failure comes down to this last 5 games this season.
I know lots don’t feel the same way with the youngest side in the league narrative, late season injuries and trimming the squad in January.
But for me to push forward and have that CL lure in the summer is imperative to attract the sort of talent we desperately need, the CL money is also important. We’ve pretty much only had 1 competition to focus on since January.
2 points clear of Spurs with 5 games remaining, top 4 or bust.
Although we’ve won our last two games against decent opposition both could have gone either way.
In fact apart from Man City, Liverpool and possibly Chelsea, there aren’t any other teams that have been consistent enough to be considered genuine top four quality.
So as long as we can get a bit of consistency, it’s in our hands but the league this season has been one of the most open and unpredictable most people have seen.
Not really. Top two are as predicted. Chelsea third no surprise.
The only real anomaly is United’s form. 4th was always going to be an open race. Nearly always decided on the last day of the season.
I thought that but they still have two games in hand and are two points ahead of us.
They also have the easiest run in of the teams below them so I doubt they will blow it from this position, although next season without Abramovich they might start to struggle a bit.
Don’t Chelsea still have to play West Ham, Man United and Wolves, all 3 challenging for European positions? Doesn’t seem easier than our run, but yeah can see them bottling the 3rd position.
If that happens it means we’re on the same points as spurs but they have a much better goal difference than us.
But I think we’ll beat West Ham who really won’t be as up for it as much as we are.
Then if we beat spurs and assuming they lose to Liverpool, it means we will be big favourites to get a top four place.
No. if Spur wins all their remaining games and we win all our remaining games and NLD is a draw then it wont come down to GD. We will finish fourth with 2 points ahead
If Pool beat them then we can even afford to lose one and still finish 2 points above them.
