Viktor Gyökeres

Chances are much increased from a far lesser league also, eg Nunez was similar numbers wasn’t he in his final season at Benfica ?

Darwin had 26 goals in 28 league games. Pretty good no doubt.

Gyokeres is on 39 goals in 33 games atm.

Gyokeres is on a higher level technically, and a more intelligent footballer btw, everyone who watched both agrees. I wont use the numbers alone to back him up here.

If you exclude penalties, one scored 22 goals, the other 27.
Caveat is that Nunez played less minutes though.

I’m not Anti Gyokeres btw, fingers crossed it works out if he’s the one we sign.

Aubameyang

He may not be the most talented but I like his attitude.
He is hungry.

That will always stand him in good stead.

Sesko meanwhile is a loser.

Going back to the goal today… Incredible dexterity and skeletal mobility for a guy of his size. Hard to imagine him being a flop, if he stays fit.
He’s like an athletic, powerful, fast Lewandowski at times.

Didn’t even realise it was the final matchday today!

Congratulations on another title Vic!!

If it’s so easy to score 30 goals in the Portuguese league, why aren’t all the other strikers in the league racking up similar numbers?
Happy to have him. We need a proper striker to take the chances we create .

I’ll ask again, who else should we sign if not big vik?

Feed the Gyok and he will score

Yeah as far as strikers go I don’t have an obvious answer hence I’m not against it.

Sesko i believe has a high ceiling, but he may or may not reach it and certainly isn’t elite now.

Osimehn i probably think is the best but attitude and maybe agent fees turning clubs off ?

So yeah this could be our most calculated risk for the next 2-3 seasons.

Exactly, so me for it’s a free pass whether he’s a flop or not in the end.

Osimhen would be an option if his price had dropped but he’s just as much of a risk really and similar price. Agreed on Sesko and we have needed a top striker for years, I’m not waiting another 2/3 for him to blossom.

60m free hit on a potential top striker.

Tough question. Easy answer, Foo Kin Noone.

He’s literally the only decent option out there atm.

Was a fan of Osimhen, now he’s being mentioned, but I don’t like how it all went for him after the title.

How can someone look at that goal and not think Gyokeres is a big balls x factor striker

Super fertile too!

This is Pavlidis(Benfica’s striker) against Viktor’s Sporting last week.

I wouldn’t take him here.

Gyokeres is doing this week and week out, that guy just had a moment of R9s spirit going into him there lol

This is just not a compelling discussion anymore.

I much rather prefer a footballing advantage such as yourself’s opinion on this:

Would circa 2004 Nacho Novo or Dado Prso start for arsenal today?

You could absolutely make a case about Pršo.

Not sure about Novo.

Where’s BigWeng to tell us not to sign Gyokeres but sign the guy Sporting want to replace him with instead.
