I have absolutely no clue who that guy is…
You look at these videos and its a great goal but at the same time the defending is also pretty atrocious. There are three different moments there, from the initial header to the take on to the non-block at the end where a competent defender might have just snuffed it out. At the same time, he pulled it off, not many strikers will do that, and maybe he has it in his locker to adjust these parts of his game to defenders that are quicker, smarter, better at anticipating, etc.
I’m on board with rolling the dice on Gyokeres given our need to win something big next season and the lack of other alternatives. But whether he is really a big balls x factor striker at top level remains to be seen.
Fotis Ioannidis, Greek striker, Sporting were trying to sign him last summer as a potential Gyokeres replacement but Panathinaikos wasn’t selling.
Worked out great for them because he ended up having a poor season anyway.
He was supposed to be Greece’s first choice striker but Pavlidis usurped him this season.
The level of mental gymnastics on OA when he comes here and scores 10 league goals in his first season is going to be immense lol
I’ll be the happiest man in the world if he’s a good signing. I’ve never shied away from shining a light on my bad takes.
Well, @Darkseid and @Pires are certainly setting him up to fail because they’re hyping him up like he’s the next Haaland.
Hope they’re right, but I don’t think he has earned that kind of faith in jim.
Personally, I’ll be pleased if the dude scores hits 15 league goals and manages to provide worthy competition for Havertz.
No one can earn anything before proving it, it’s all projection
I think he projects better than anyone else on the market including Isak because Isak would get likely injured here so his production would be limited as a result
Time will tell but I’m a day one and it ain’t changing boss

Same.
Also, I literally just said above he’s not the new Haaland, closer to a Diego Costa (quality and style wise)
He could also be a Lewandowski on steroids, not excluding that either.
He’s an exciting signing no matter the way you put it… We have been crying out for a striker of shis kind for a very long time…

Isak is a PL proven striker! What has Gyokeres proved? F-all so far!
He only mentioned the injury risk lol
Reading is fundamental for some, others not so much
What’s to say that Isak get injured at Arsenal anymore than he has at Newcastle? That’s just pure speculation on your behalf. No basis for your argument whatsoever.
He’s had his injuries at Newcastle, hasn’t he?
If not Big Vik, Big Dik then ??
Don’t bring up facts
He’s allergic to those
Are you trying to tell us something Ronnie? We don’t judge of course.
You’re talking nonsense…why is Isak more likely to get injured at Arsenal than at Newcastle? There is nothing factual about what you’re saying here.
What’s to say Gyokeres won’t score as many at Arsenal as he has at Sporting? It’s all speculation til it does or doesn’t happen.
Not wild to say given our history with injuries and Isak’s too. Regardless of how good he is, it’s 130m on one player who isn’t the most robust we’ve even seen. Partey was extremely robust at Atletico and yet people say he has an availability problem at Arsenal.
Btw he did give the basis for his specific isak injury concerns a few days ago.
All pointless anyways, Isak will never play for Arsenal so we’re wasting our time discussing it.
It’s very obvious if you consider how both teams play
But then wouldn’t expect you to account for any of it
