Think he was really good today
Very isolated, and Trossard hugging the ball for eternity doesn’t help
He is starting to grow in his role. Now start banging in the goals in those last 12 games and get us over the line!
Yeah. Thought he grew into it.
Nearly helped us steal it in the end.
Gyokeres did well under the high balls. In August he was getting pushed off his spot and losing every duel. They’ve clearly worked on that at the training ground.
0 shots is a negative. Some of that is on Gyokeres, but I place most of the blame on the supporting cast.
He had a good game. That swing and a miss was embarrassing though. Seen it too many times from various players.
Is that the Rice one or the cross from Hincapie?
I think it was Rice. The Brenford player just runs from behind and takes the ball away before Gyokeres can connect.
He could’ve been quicker to shoot.
It was an excellent challenge, at the same time the ball came to Gyokeres. He didn’t really even take a touch.
Tbh, I’m angrier at Rice for that because he overdid it.
Should’ve just shot.
Was decent yesterday but I can’t say good when he didn’t have a shot on target.
I was honestly on verge of breaking stuff around me watching him compete for anything with his back to goal today.
Like, there’s no way he’s still struggling with a task that should be “business as usual” for any striker.
Honestly this guy is one of the worst starting strikers in the league, most midtable clubs have strikers that give Saliba and Gabriel a much harder time than this guy gives defenders.
Bonafide bust and I hope we try to move on in the summer.
I’ve had the displeasure of watching the Portuguese league this season, Pavlidis is on course to score 30 league goals himself despite being absolutely atrocious.
Constant statpadding with penalties and tap-ins.
I’ve seen Kiwior for Porto there and he is looking like Maldini.
There will always be gems coming out of such a talented country like Neves and Mendes but you really gotta be picky and do your homework on them before committing on spending big fees on players there.
When you removed penalties from his goal numbers in Portugal there wasn’t anything about his goal record that suggested he’d be a smash hit in England
Needless to say he is a proper flop
Say what you want about him, and he is shit, but he sure does have a cool goal celebration.
He is down there with Chamakh for the worst strikers I’ve seen at the Arsenal.
We have a great record with him on the pitch. It’s only Wolves but we were winning until he came off. Needs to be back up next season.
I know I’ll get accused to bias but Chamakh was way better for us. People forget he had 10 goals and 3 assists in his first 17 or 18 games for us. He started very well and he was never a natural out and out striker.
He got droppers when RVP returned and then went to absolute shit but his initial start at Arsenal was very good.
Saying that those are gems seems like a disservice to the talent factory that that country is. Their national team is full of players playing at the highest level around Europe.
You have a point that with these high scoring strikers in the Portugese or Dutch League it’s always an uncertainty if that will translate to the Premier League or La Liga. More often than not it doesn’t translate well.
