Video technology (VAR) in football

Common sense

Simple common sense

There are people who want such officiating back.
VAR takes away the emotion from the goal. Poor referring also did.

Yep to both.

One of the positives of VAR, the triple joy celebrating the goal celebrating the goal again when it’s been given and then cheering when it’s actually gone your way for once.

Did anyone’s broadcast show them drawing the lines? I didn’t see it on the USA feed.

We were overdue a VAR in our favour.

They did on mine it was so close I was expecting it to go against us hence my third cheer for the goal

They did. The problem was that it looked like they announced the decision as offside on the big screen before the VAR result was in.

They did on my stream. Looked onside to me.

Ty. I’ve seen it back a few times now. He looks on to me, but I’m biased.

Exactly what I thought when he didn’t appear for the second half

VAR gave us this game which we wouldn’t have won without VAR

Much needed. I bet the refs and VAR are not going to be big fans of this. But seeing all the bullshit that happened this season, creating some transparency about what is being discussed and looked at is 100% the right move.

Technology is great but human usage and interpretation ruin all.

Good idea, then we can hear them not understand perspective in real time.

I hope this doesn’t effect the purchase of a new longer ruler for the VAR ref.

I wouldn’t say the technology is that great. When VAR is forensically investigating offsides to a matter of millimeters, you need cameras that operate at a much faster rate of FPS when you take into account the speed of the game at the highest level.
