That non penalty on Pepe was absolutely hilarious

Another small clip of decisions that have gone against us.

Yea honestly the ref who booked Pepe there should have his licence taken away.

Are ppl still raving about how great VAR has been? Officials can still control a match however they please because they don’t have to use VAR unless they really want to.

This was incredibly infuriating. This card gets given about once a season, which makes no sense to begin with, but he decided to give it in this occasion? Does it ever get given for not going off on the nearest touchline?

Players are getting in on it as well now.

Maybe they should fucking do so on the pitch where it might make a difference.

Yeah exactly, they never protest any decision.

Then again, Bizzy, a couple or few seasons ago everyone was yelling Arseholes, Bastards, Fucking Cunts and Pricks (thank you Mr. Dury) when Chelsea players were mobbing the ref. on every call against them.

Idk if @BizzySignal is advocating for all ten outfield players to surround the ref Barcelona 2010 style. If he is, fair play.

We do need to work the refs because everyone works the refs. That means getting in their ear early, having Arteta do it at press conferences, maybe even at those pre match sessions (you think it’s a coincidence Bellerin all of the sudden started getting pulled up on foul throws? No. Someone pointed it out and kept pointing it out.)

We don’t have to go full Rafa and we shouldn’t let it consume preparation for actual matches but it’s part of the game.

One of the worst fucking things VAR does is the lines on the offside decision. If it’s that fucking close it’s not offside ffs, ruining the beautiful game.

Right on, Big Weng. Thing is, goals have been disputed since football was invented and goals have been disputed since VAR was invented.

Bottom line: no fucking difference, except these dumbass VAR delays are ruining the flow of the game. Disputed decisions? Over the course of a season you’re gonna win some and you’re gonna lose some.

Personally, I think we were better off without VAR and the simple reason for that is before VAR, there was one less incompetent fool involved in the whole decision making process.

I cannot believe the some of the shocking decisions that get made, with technology available. Was watching the West Brom vs United game this weekend. Pawson points to the penalty for a foul on Maguire, the VAR asks Pawson to take another look, Pawson does and decides there wasn’t any foul on Maguire. In all this, the fact that Maguire was miles offside to begin with, was ignored by VAR. They offered some cockamamie explanation about how Maguire was fouled before he got involved in the play.

We are better off with VAR.
I don’t want to go back to the archaic days. Far less games are fucked up because of “human error” these days.
It is not apparent but the decision making of the referees is under scrutiny right now. Much more than before.

Previously people would shrug off incompetence with human error, but now incompetence is well & truly exposed. These people are running around amending rules every few games.

That’s two managers who have said the use of VAR should be stopped. Roger Schmidt rant was a few days ago and can be seen below.

Watching Inter - Lazio the other day and a Lukaku goal was originally called offside and replayed showed that it was clearly onside.

If you remove VAR from the game you reopen the world to a host of awful decisions again.

At the end of the day, there needs to be clear and consistent application of VAR across the game and that isn’t happening right now. The system isn’t flawed, the way it’s being implemented is.

I’d be livid as an Inter fan to have seen a key goal in a title race ruled out because of poor officiating that was rightfully overturned.

I don’t see any world where VAR is removed from the game ever again when there is so much money to be made and so much to lose from decisions being incorrect.

It’s up to FIFA to intervene and set guidelines that every FA should follow across the globe.

It’s a good thing that the video assistance is here, what needed and still needs a reform, is the refereeing, don’t blame the tool, if training sessions can help with the incompetence, then by all means, if not then change the personnel and select adequate profiles, we’ve been seeing the same dinosaurs for ages either way.
