Given that Hitler didn’t like chemical warfare anyway (mustard gas from WW1 played on the minds of Churchill and Hitler quite a lot going into WW2 and there was almost a gentleman’s agreement not to use them), I think Germany using nuclear weapons would have been a non-starter

Fair point but slavery is intertwined with American culture also. Culture is not a solid object that doesn’t change. Actually culture is more fluid and constantly changing than almost anything else I can think of.
