Top Gun 2 had a delayed release cos of the pandemic. Makes me think it was post production jn 2019
New Ghost busters film looks decent, really pleased they’ve stuck with some of the OG characters…

Looks marginally better than Afterlife, but that set such a low bar and was essentially a rehash of the original in the end aka The force Awakens. Loved the original Ghostbusters film, which is a classic. Should have just left this series alone.

Yep. Ghostbusters 1 and 2 were superb.
Fun fact- ghostbusters 2 was the second film I ever watched in cinema.

The second one was an ok sequel. Not as good as the first though. Shame they didn’t make a third one at the time. Impressive it was one of your first cinema trips though…

The Borderlands IP isn’t a bad IP to make a move on in theory, you know… a humour/action shitflick… but the casting seems so… off. They should’ve just casted some meme lords from the scene instead, that could’ve maybe worked, but now it looks like too much formulaic Hollywood or something. Might be good tho who knows.

Looks good, but does look as though this is going to be based on the game Alien Isolation, which personally I’d be very happy to see. Defo 2 or 3 nods to the game in the teaser trailer and pleased if this is the case, that they haven’t given anything anything away with the plot yet.
@Mondo - not a fan of the sequels? Alien 3 is a masterpiece in the making which was ruined by the studio. Would love Fincher to come back and finish the film as he intended.

Aslong as its got suspens in and makes me jump i be happy thats how isolation made me feel and thats how i felt watching Alien.
That scene with the group off face huggers chasing the person looks brillant.
Total agree that Alien 3 is a masterpieces especially the Directions cut. Tho dont finche will ever return to do his own cut.
Fincher’s 1st big budget movie I believe.
Yeah. Definitely let down by studio interference. Also, the CGI is very bad, even at the time it was released.
I liked the very dark tone, and was even okay with certain characters being killed off. Would have been interesting to see Vincent Ward’s idea being realized (the wooden planet guy).
Given the Director’s previous films, I think they are going to try and take it back to its origins. Love the face huggers and actually that’s something we haven’t really seen too much of during the previous films, with exemption of that scene in Aliens.
Good to see there are a few other fans of Alien3 - have you watched the ‘Working Cut’ of the film? Once you’ve seen this, you really realise how the Theatrical Cut makes no sense whatsoever. Agree that Fincher will never return but I live in hope!
Yeah it was…and shame he wasn’t able to finish it. CGI isn’t great, but fortunately there isn’t too much of it in the film. Was never too sure about Vincent Ward’s concept of the wooden planet, but they obviously evolved his idea in the story for the film. Personally, the thing that I think they got wrong was killing off Hicks and Newt at the start of the film. I would have liked to see them in the film, if only to be killed. Maybe Newt could have been the one carrying the Alien and dies, which would have diverted attention from Ripley hosting the Queen inside her. The other prisoners could have killed Hicks maybe. Would have made it much darker, but think they created a special bond between those characters in Aliens, that it was a shame to completely ditch that at the start of Alien3.
Yeah its the only version i choose to watch now. Tho i still prefair the chestbusting scene from End of Alien 3 theatrical cut then the end of the assembly cut.
Have u watched Alien in 4k yet? Thats a beautiful looking picture in that film.
Me too and agree about the chestbursting scene at the end…a good addition and the CGI isn’t too bad.
Not watched Alien in 4K yet but heard good things. Alien is my personal favourite film of all time. From a couple of clips it looks gorgeous. Film has aged so well.
Check it out when you can well worth rewatching in 4k.
Hopefully when it comes to Alien 3 4k Disney will fix the cgi when they do the transfer.
