Unpopular football opinions

The collar on the new England shirts remind me of…a vagina🙈

Raya is an average keeper who’s deficiencies have been masked by the awesome performances of Gabriel and Saliba, and Rice when playing #6.

I won’t say average. His true level however is a mystery.
I hope though, it always remains a mystery & Gab-Saliba can continue being a wall & never allow Raya to be the main character.

David Raya when he was getting exposed at Brentford

Also had the highest save %

Football should have similar rules to basketball which allows a player to commit only a set number of fouls before being ejected.

I’d take Lampard over either Gerrard or Scholes.

My guy!

Is that really unpopular? Lampard is up there with the greats.

Honestly, this is not that controversial imo. I’d take Gerrard personally though.

Who knew, OA knows ball.

I can never decide between Gerrard and Lampard. Both certainly above Scholes.

Not all of us pretend to be know alls I suppose

I always have it:

  1. Scholes
  2. Lampard
  3. Gerrard

But happy to swap about the top 2

For me Gerrard and Scholes might be the better pure footballers but Lampard’s was ridiculously effective.
He was scoring 15+ goals each season for like a good decade and he was doing the off the ball stuff too.

The dude was a manager’s dream.

Don Carlo Ancelotti put him in a best midfield out of everyone he’s managed, and he’s managed a couple Ballon De Oro midfielders.

What’s a pure footballer?

This three way comparison has been coming up for years and honestly I feel like the winner is nearly always either Scholes or Gerrard in polls or just gauging popular opinion in the comments. I don’t really ever see Lampard win.

But it’s been less unpopular here than anticipated, granted.
