No the main reason was there was a complaint about it being unfair.
Thats how we went to silver time for the opponent to have half a chance of an equaliser for some reason.
Nothing summed all the emotions in a game like the golden goal IMO.
I actually googled this. Their sponsor hasnât been paying up so they did this.
The reason I remain on the fence about the golden goal is that we wouldnât have had the greatest extra time ever at Sampdoria in 95 had it been in existence.
@Calum almost there!!
Extra time is rarely memorable and Iâm not sure what you could do to change that. Short of just playing until someone scores and looking at this game that would be horrific.
Id prefer Roma to win on this occasion
Why are people wanting good things for Mourinho?
Here comes the whinge of how some of the fittest athletes on the planet canât be expected to play 2 hours of football with 5 subs each.
Thereâs people holding jobs down running around the streets doing 2 hour runs or fitness sessions in the gym. Ffs.
Jose doing his bit to take the focus off the players here
Mourinho irate. Finally some action in this game.
Bono bringing back some good World Cup memories not seen him since
Spit-balling a Suggestion: Allow rotations like they do in Basketball in Extra Time.
The evidence is there to see. Players are set for a 90 minute game and depending on how hard they go in that they often are out on their feet after the extra 30. The problem is how long they might end up going if it was next goal winner. Itâs also game 60ish this season for these teams. They play enough for me.
Mourinho is still the biggest wind up in football.
What top level manager who calls himself special, gets his team to waste time and play for penalties?
If it were next goal winner these teams would still be out there tomorrow morning.
Well if you had rolling subs youâd keep the early intensity.
This is virtually non contact sport now.
The handbags on the bench has been the only entertaining thing about this extra time
I get the sentiment but itâs a bit much for someone who has spent this season watching the opposition kick Bukayo Saka up in the air with impunity to say it
Rolling subs might help but nothing slows the game down more either. That system would need dramatic change.
I bet the penalties will be underwhelming too.
