UEFA Europa League

Tough game to ref this tonight.

Reminds me of Porto v Celtic 2003

Fucking hell, Roma are fucked. Dybala is with one leg into retirement, goal aside he was awful. Belotti moves like he has rocks in his shorts. Wijnaldum is fucking shit too. Wish El Sharaawy was fit because they’re toothless going forward.

Think Roma’s best chance now are from a set piece or at penalties.

I think Sevilla will ultimately pull it off, again.

Did the BT Sports guy just call Zalewski, Zanetti :joy::joy: please tell me I heard that wrong

Wijnaldum is so crap. Offers nothing.

This is going to be one of those extra time that serves no purpose isn’t it.

Neither team has anything left here

Why are scouse commentators allowed to be a thing??

Was it last January he was linked to a move here. Dude is very much done at the top level.

This Roma team is bad. Jose has done well to get them to this point. When you look at the injury issues on top of that too - this would be his best cup win.

I’m on the fence about golden goals, but it did give extra times a certain frenetic quality about them back in the day.

What’s annoying is the losers will start whinging if they lose on pens.
Have a fucking go then you gutless bastards now then.

I think Lamela has thrown that elbow intentionally

Did it? My recollection is that it exacerbated the tendency of teams to sit deep and prioritise not conceding.

I thought that was why they canned it.

England v Germany and Germany v Czech Rep at Euro 96 would suggest otherwise.

Doubt anyone can actually accurately remember it. Must be 20+ years since it was binned and there was really only a couple of notable games it even happened in.

Yeah, that is the argument against it. But seen so many games recently where this happens anyway. Golden goal can’t be any worse.

That just suggests Germany attacked, since they scored in both :grinning: (albeit disallowed against England)

I just realised Roma are donning SPQR (Roman Republic) on the front of their shirts. I’m fairly confident that wasn’t there before this season…right?

So did England. Hit the post and Gazza missed that chance
