UEFA Europa League

Inter and Milan probably won’t even finish top 4 in their own league lol.

Inter form is hard to understand but if they played to the standard they’re capable of they are certainly better than Newcastle and Manchester United.

I thought United were supposed to walk this competition :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

They just can’t beat Sevilla. Third time being knocked out by them in 6 seasons.

Nah we were favourites for long periods of this competition :scream_cat:

United were favourites over us though. I remember wondering why that was. And then we lost to Sporting and I was like “Ok, that’s why” And certainly once we were gone, there were people suggesting United had it in the bag.

Pretty sure we were favs until United knocked out Barca, then when they did they they catapulted into favouritism.

I wish I currently felt more able to laugh at a team going two goals up but not winning

Never thought I’d defend Maguire, but this time the amount of stick he got is unfair. In any other situation I would jump at the chance to clank down on this excuse of a defender. However. The pass he got from De Gea was so bad. Maguire was surrounded (closely) by 3 Sevilla players. Knowing De Gea, he would not have yelled this information to Harry. But it wouldn’t have mattered anyway, that’s a damn cruel pass to any player! Watch the situation from the camera behind the goal. What the hell was De Gea thinking?!

“Hmm, what’s the best play here? Boot it up the field? Um no. I have a teammate surrounded by a feking hornets nest and he’s the last defender. Here ya go buddy! Good luck!”

From what I recall Maguire was asking for the ball. They’re both to blame on that one.

De Gea over the course of the game is the bigger idiot though.

The pass to Maguire was a bad decision.
Maguire (if he did) asking for the ball was a bad decision.
Maguire’s passing to Wan-Bissaka was way off, straight to Seville’s players legs, bad pass.

Gotta say, extremely impressed with Leverkusen. Alonso is doing some job.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to see Bayer to advance.
But to get my 92 rating Abraham FUT card to get upgrade, Roma needs to get into final.

7 years since West Ham played at Upton Park. Where has that time gone.

Sevilla 1-0 and its fully deserved.

Credit to their new manager Mendilibar. He has had a complete journeyman career bouncing around mid-to-lower table La Liga clubs and Segunda clubs for 20 years before taking over a relegation threatened Sevilla in late March that both Lopetegui and Sampaoli failed to get a tune out of. Since then he has gone 5-1-1 in the league, humiliated Manchester United, and now leading a European semi final against Juventus.
