So if a goal had been scored by an encroaching attacker, it wouldāve been disallowed? And how do you expect a defender not to mark an encroaching attacker? No one wants to rely on refs to make the right call.

Itās quite possible with var an encroaching attacker scoring a goal would be disallowed. There is a problem with almost every moment in a game being scrutinised the way they are though.
