I lived in a “dry town” for part of my life. There were soccer moms known to traffic alcohol just to let you know that prohibition doesn’t work.

I’m originally from the UK, so some of the stories I hear are quite intriguing.
A friend of mine went to college in Cinci. Him and his classmates used to cross the border into nearby KY to stock up on alcohol, since the state laws differed regarding at what age you could buy your booze. I imagine it was a very popular beer run.
Last time the Democrats had a super majority in the house and the senate (2008, Obama) they didn’t use it to make substantial changes (perhaps besides Obamacare).
The uniparty will continue business as usual with the plebs gauging each other’s eyes out.
I do feel like it needs pointing out that the supermajority included some extremely right-wing Democrats including people like Joe “Shithead” Lieberman and Max Baucus.
It’s not like Obama had a progressive supermajority. I think he chickened out by going with what was essentially a Republican thinktank plan in Obamacare but it’s not like he had the same caucus that Biden had when he took office in 2021.

So the Dems will apparently hold the Senate.
I’ve got no love for them but it’s far far preferable to have judges appointed by Biden than having those vacancies blocked.

Turns out a non story really. Meanwhile sets a precedent and likely a few democrats will be pressured into showing their tax returns.
I won’t be surprised if there is dirt under their carpet to be found.

A non story? He held a foreign account while President. He also helped pass a tax cut in 2017 which saved him money while making public comments about how it would cost him money. And he also lied about donating his Presidential salary to charity.
It’s nothing that would persuade someone whose brain runs on Newsmax or OANN that Trump is a liar and tax cheat but it’s far from a nonstory.
And idk why you think this would create a precedent to have Democrats release their tax returns. That’s been going on for years.
A rich person tried to avoid paying tax? Well I never…
