A decent return though and as a second choice CF then he improves us considerably. But he isn’t the level we need for a first choice option and he’ll cost significantly more than what Roma paid to get him. Move on.

Yeh I’m not sure. I think he would occupy Ødegaard’s position in the team and given the way Martin is growing right now, I wouldn’t want to stunt that.
Darwin Nunez looks like the Uruguayan Vlahovic, let’s get him.
He replaces Lacazette and also the way lacazette fits in our team. The way I see it is we can try and find a standard 9 who scores goals but maybe dosnt particularly fit our play or we can find a player that fits our current system and elevates it.
Obviously I’d rather have got vlahovic but there isnt a single striker option out there who dosnt make me extremely nervous they wont be a complete flop. Isak, David, DCL no guarantee they even score goals let alone fit our team. I see Felix as option that even if he dosn’t score a tonne of goals (and he has the potential to) he will still help us keep a lot of synergy in how we want our forwards to interact with each other, whilst being better than laca in countless areas.
I think Felix is actually a safer option yet also has with a much higher upside
That comparison of Firmino, Foden and Bernardo is off.
Firmino has two world class wingers to shoulder the goal scoring burden and Foden’s output compared to games and minutes played for the type of player he is is actually pretty good.
Felix wouldn’t have the comfort blankets that Firmino has whilst also being expected to produce more than Foden as he is essentially a winger/CF.
He does have upside and room for growth with regard to production but we may well be in a similar position with regard to needing more goals.
you want the tall lanky skinny fast paced winger to play centrally as a low centre-of-gravity strong balance support act lagging behind the wide players most of the time, playing with his back against the goal most of the time, 2 CBs on him trying to wrestle him off the ball most of the time whilst he’s trying to distribute to others and make runs to open up space for others?
And with his 5 goals a season in a much less physical league he is going to do that better than Laca in the most physical league there is, and improve our output ultimately?
I lvoe watching this kid play football but if he comes he’s going on the left. You want to switch out Laca or play this guy central then we first completely switch our tactics and stop playing 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 and play like… 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 or some 5-3-2 shenanigans or w/e.
If being a CF was all about physical strength Lukaku wouldn’t be getting the lowest number of touches for CFC
If you’ve got pace, acceleration, dribbling and good movement off the ball you can still be a good striker, just play the game in a different way.
Especially one who’s technically gifted so can run in behind but also drop deep to pass and be creative.
Felix is better than Lacazette at all of those attributes.
Worst case you end up with a CB man marking him in the middle of the pitch and they’re effectively left playing with 1 CB for us to exploit
