Trainers/Sneakers/Crepz/Kickz Thread

Yeah man, TNs are classics from our childhood/teen years, so no actual disrespect to them, I know many who would rock those, or did rock the originals back in the day. Just never been my style.

I do think those soles are basically a war crime though, that’s not a positive innovation that improves the silhouette imo.

Yer I was unsure about the soles, I got some Adidas Ultraboost the other month and they are nice

Taking me slightly out of my comfort zone with these TNs but I think fuck it, I wanna give them a go.
Never had a pair in my life so now is the time

Yeah I’ve run through 3 pairs over the last couple years lol. They’re my favourite everyday wear trainers.

AJ1 Lost and Found restock rumored at 11:40 EST today. Nike clowned all of us. Been sitting on SNKRS since 11:35 and still nothing.

The worst part is, they’ll drop at some point today and I still won’t get them. :santi:

Fucking hell, that is a gigantic W.

I’d give anything to grab those at retail price.

Incredibly jealous.

I believe you folks describe my current emotional state as “buzzing”? I never win SNKRS drops.

First and foremost I’d like to thank my partner, Mere because without her big brain and paycheck this purchase wouldn’t be possible. Obviously I’d like to thank our daughters for being young enough to not need things like braces or sports equipment which are also quite expensive. Special thanks to Michael Jordan, Phil Knight, David Falk and Peter Moore.

Lee Harvey Oswald once said, “You miss one hundred percent of the shots you don’t take.” Obviously I wasn’t favored to win this drop and it was definitely a little scary when the originally leaked 11:40 EST drop time came and went with no updates on the feed. But we kept the faith, continued to refresh, took the phone everywhere including the shower until the drop finally happened at 13:40 EST.

I’d like to wrap things up by again thanking my partner, Mere. And Steve Jobs for inventing the iPhone which helped make this win possible. Fuck Clarence Thomas. Fuck the NRA. Fund Planned Parenthood. Free Palestine. Goodnight and God bless you all.

Big W, congrats! Heard stock levels was over 200k. Would be nice if the UK got decent restocks

I was fortunate to hit EA on these (Uk). Still in the box - I’m scared to wear them :joy:

Wear them my friend. They are made to be destroyed.

Air Jordan 3 Retro True Blue and Copper

AKA Jordan 3 Wizards. Never before released, it’s a subtly different colourway to the classic True Blues, Jordan wore them when he played for the Washington Wizards in the early 00s.

I really can’t justify another pair of white and slightly blue Jordans tbh, or any expensive trainers full stop, so I think what I might do is shrink wrap up each trainer to avoid any sort of ageing or damage and put them in the loft and pull em out in a few years. Either that or sell of some pairs on Vinted to justify keeping these.

Buying trainers is a almost a fucking addiction for me at this stage ffs

Got these at the weekend and love them

Feel 10 feet tall walking around in them with those soles!!

I have these Moab 3’s arriving this week. I go through a lot of trail/hiking footwear and decided to give Merrell a go.

:oof:

Be very interested to know how you get on with these.

I had a pair of Salomon Quest 4D boots for a few years that were amazing and completed various hills/mountains trails/hikes, incl. National 3 Peaks and they were super comfortable. They needed replacing and I got an updated version of the Salomon but they were super uncomfortable and then I tried a Scarpa boot, did a Yorkshire 3-peaks but didn’t like the boot, finally got a pair of Hanwag Banks and did Kilimanjaro, but again didn’t like the boot, although still been using it on short hikes but need to find a new boot

Ooh, I was going to go for a Scarpa boot next.

I like a leather boot for winter purposes and I originally wanted the Mammut Trovat Guide II but they seemed difficult to get a hold of + some sketchy information regarding sizing. I didn’t want to go through the faff of ordering and returning.

Decided to go for the Lowa Ranger III gtx boot from a local retailer and they have been great thus far. Comfortable (especially toe-box), I found them to be true to size, little break in period and very waterproof for my needs.

The Moabs are going to be my summer boots. Not sure how great the gortex will be for heat, but we’ll see!

I’m doing some hiking in wales this summer - about 30-40 miles over a weekend and I need some new hiking boots.

Can you guys recommend a pair? It’s not until July so I technically have a couple months to break them in

Of course you can.

Only from what I have suggested. I think a good starting point would definitely be to try them on in a shop if you can, to get a feel of the sizing, especially if they are leather boots you are after.

The Lowa Renegades are also meant to be highly rated but I’ve not tried them myself.

Hoka have fully tapped into the trainer/sneaker/hiker realm and have the Kaha’s, which look bulky and plush. I have read that the lugs are peeling from some people’s versions and I’m not so sure if I would be spending £150+ on something that isn’t very durable.

Ok cool I’ll look into it - have you heard anything about ON Hiking boots?

I know people rave about their running shoes and I saw they’ve started making hiking boots now as well

They’re not something I have looked at tbh.

I think from afar, most of these brands are trying to make a hybrid from their trail running shoes. Which is great, because I reckon most of them are good to go from the box, because they are essentially trainers with mid-length. However the durability aspect of them is something that is desired.

It’s kind of why I went with the Merrell’s. I think they are scaled down from a leather hiking boot and mostly retain the feel of one however offer more flexibility than a traditional leather hiker, and feel more like a trainer. Whereas some of these running brands are scaling up to try and match a leather boot but don’t get on so good for durability/weatherproofing. They will most likely offer a gortex liner to mitigate the lack of protection that leather naturally provides.

It comes down to preference and what you want from the footwear ultimately.
