My parents have one of those half dead in the garage, I’ll use it for the car from time to time and I have to say it’s much better than the umpteen cordless ones I’ve owned in my lifetime but it’s inconvenient as hell.
I’m such a whore for converse and it’s mostly what I wear these days, bought these during a little sale. The newer stuff seems to be alot more comfortable too.
The state of my shoe collection is embarrassing right now. I usually have a couple of nice pairs of kicks and a couple of nice pairs of dress shoes for work. Then I have flip flops that I just bum around in. All of my shoes are in a state right now. I could easily spend a grand on shoes and still be lacking at this point. COVID threw me completely off my shoe game.
So I said this in January. Since then I’ve bought 6 pairs and I expect delivery of another one that I bought on kickstarter last summer.
FML.
Invested in a couple pairs of dunks recently. Got the marina blue ones and the pandas.

Really tempted to buy a pair of the AF1 Next Nature (Hemp). I had them in my cart at Nike and hesitated like Lacazette in front of goal and now they’re sold out. I can buy them from a resale website but they’re at a $15 markup.
Do I pull the trigger or accept not having the shoes as punishment for not taking my chance?
Gonna need some pictures to truly pass judgement.
But a $15 mark up is nothing if you really like the trainers, I say go for it. Trainers I like get marked up by like 100% or more if you miss them in the raffle/at retail haha
I shouldn’t have said I needed to see the trainers to pass comment haha, cos all that matters is if you like them.
I’d say they’re out there enough for you to not necessarily be able to find a similar alternative, any old pair of AF1s aren’t going to hit the same spot as these woven ones, so you should definitely just go an extra £15 dollars and buy them imo.
Yeah, that’s fair. It’s a tough call. I like the woven look although I’ve seen some reviews that it get scuffed and stained really easily. And I have no clue if you can clean some of these new synthetic or “natural” materials the same way you’d clean suede. I’ll probably break down and buy them because I’m weak.
Yeah, they will definitely be very easily damaged, the odd scuff could irreperably damage them in a way that it wouldn’t woth leather, or even suede or some other fabric. Cleaning would also be trickier.
Reckon you need to either buy a pair and really look afyer them, or wear them hard and just accept that they aren’t gonna stay looking fresh for long.
It’s what has put me off buying any woven/flyknit Nikes in the past
Ran 8 miles and then decided I should buy them. Like you said, I’ll obviously need to accept that they’re not going to stay clean for very long but I like that flyknit look.
@Joshua got lucky and came across these 2006/7 Jordans on sale second hand in a local record shop.
They’re called Spizikes, they’re Spike Lee influenced (a caricature of his face is on one of the heels) and take elements from the Jordan 3s, 4s, 5s and 6s.
Second hand but grabbed them for 75 quid, mad steal considering how much they go for online
Wow you managed to get them for £75?
Even second hand, they look in excellent condition.
That’s a photo I nicked off google lol, but mine are in similarly good condition. They look brilliant for a 16 years old pair of trainers lol
Yeah, just 75, I played a long game over several weeks, taking a chance on nobody else buying them up in the meantime. Shop had them advertised for 100 quid, which was already a pretty fucking good price, but a bit more than I wanted to spend when I already had 15 odd pairs at home and a baby on the way lol
After popping in a few times over a few weeks, checking the trainers out as well as some records, I eventually gave it some chat about my wife killing me if I spend 100 on trainers with a baby on the way and bartered them down from there. Shocked I managed it though lol, but I figured if they sat in the shop for some time and I showed an interest we could maybe make something work.
Do you want to be Arsenal’s chief executive
And have the absolute psychos from Arsenal twitter on my case? I’m alright actually, mate.
