The State of The Arsenal

Fantastic news, our throw ins are shit.

How about we also find a specialist in combination play/central progression?

Tbh I think most of our buildup issues are by design rather than an ‘issue’ as such. Our game is built around control and reducing the ability to be countered by opponents and this lends itself to less risky play in general.

According to gunnerblog we haven’t actually signed him. He’s here just temporarily giving workshops

might as well make throw in as free kicks at this point.

I’d happily have him take our throw ins based on this

Saw some reports about that today and I got a bit sick…

I mean, we should be using all we can… but, ffs, Arteta is almost turning this into some other sport…
Imagine us lifting a player as they do in rugby too in a while lol..

That’s all nice, but what bugs me primarily is that after 5-6 years of Arteta here, our final third play looks so rigid, limited etc for most of the time… We are so slow to make progress there, if at all, but here we are, investing all we can into set piece coaches.

I mean, for most of the time, you see us circling around just to end up with a random cross, from a nothing position, and hope for the best. That’s the primary way we create from open play.
Considering how much possession we have we have to be the least creative team ever.
Among all the top coaches I know, Arteta has to be one of the most limited and rigid one’s when it comes to that final third. He’s acting like Moyes on steroids (or Big Sam).
It’s a shame he’s not copying Pep when it comes to this part of the game at all.

There’s still an absurd amount of space to improve our open play creation. Whether that’s creating when we are high up the pitch and trying to open a deep defence, whether it’s our breaks, transition and counter attacks, or when we win the ball high up the pitch (that’s what we do the best among these 3 no doubt).

I want to see some proper improvement in our open play creation first and then he can have those guys who are doing salto throw in’s and stuff.

Considering our squad costs £20k/h year round in wages alone, it’s surprising not more owners hire people like ThomasThrowin here.

I guess “State of The Arsenal” is quite good with this bench

Seven straight games without a clean sheet. Would be a good time to start a streak of not conceding again.

I agree with your point but we did keep a clean sheet just last week against Liverpool.

Oops, sans that game.

Still, I really like Arsenal’s league chances if the defense gets back to what it was (soon).
