It’s not necessarily a bad thing to be good at set pieces and scoring last minute winners; if it gets us the 3 points; then why not. 
Just need to add free-kicks to the list and we’d arguably be the best set piece team in the league if we’re not already.

How much of poor finishing can’t you put down to game style ? How much of it just down to the players not doing the business when out in the positions to do so ?

Xhaka definitely wasn’t a liability last season. He was a liability under Wenger and Emery when he was playing a lot closer to our back line (in stead our attack last season). When his risky play lead to dangerous situations. In fact, and it pains me to say this, Xhaka was much more the glue last season between midfield and attack than we give him credit for. Always available for the pass or one/twos, creating triangles with Zinchenko/Partey or Jesus/Martinelli. He was very solid in circulating the ball.
What you saying is nice on paper (freeing space up for another creative/attacking player) but what happening is on the pitch is really similar to what happened with Wenger and his 4-2-3-1. There is not link up and cohesion between our back line and attack, spaces are too wide, Rice has a lot of space to cover etc. There is no midfield anymore. That is why we struggle to create. Havertz was supposed to add on what Xhaka brought last season, but in stead he took away what Xhaka brought (link up) and does what exactly?

Considering Nketiah and Jesus are playing in front of some of the best midfielders in Europe, their combined goals are less tha either Solanke or Bowen, who play for mid table clubs.
It doesn’t help that none of our other attacking players are scoring enough either which. is a problem that Arteta is obviously aware of and why he’s looking for another striker.
Last seasons numbers were based on those 4 over performing. The drop off has been more drastic than anyone could’ve imagined but there was always gonna be some.
Saka will be the one to claw back his numbers by seasons end but Odegaard and martinelli were the risk. Jesus I actually expected to improve and he’s gotten worse ffs.

Saka only has three non penalty goals, so it’s hardly like he should escape criticism either.
The whole attack is just a bit scuffed, system issue not player issue.

You want to win the prem, you just aint going to do it with an injury prone Jesus and Eddie.
65mill would have got us a number 9, we are were we are and if it’s not addressed, we’ll slip further and be in a Europa fight.
I hope this is one step back season in order to take two steps forward.

Best hope is a decent run in the CL but with the way we are fucking fluffing anything and everything, we might not even get past Porto.
Aim for top 4 and another year of CL football and then we need to make some good moves in the market next summer.
Hard to not be completely fucking embarrassed by these overpaid millionaire cunts today though. I’m not going to bother getting up in the middle of the night to watch these cunts for a while.
