The State of The Arsenal

Yups, I read it first.

Yeah I don’t even think a system change would make them better finishers as I said in another thread. Put Partey in this team… it still won’t stop the front 4 from missing sitters.

But our current style of putting everything through Saka is wasteful. How comes we don’t even play through the middle? There were at least 4-5 times today where the middle final third of the pitch didn’t have a single Arsenal player there. So we’re forced to go on the wings.

So that’s a question of our style too, no?

You obviously didn’t read it because I was talking specifically about the fact that the spending and getting worse argument is framed in a disingenuous way.

In terms of the other stuff youve said, it’s contradictory because you say our players are missing sitters and a system change wont fix that but you also said that it’s not a personnel issue, so the system isn’t going to stop players not scoring goals but it’s also not a personnel issue, then what exactly is it?

Spot on, The underperformance of everybody in the forward line minus Saka very little to do with Partey

Being completely honest, I don’t know. It’s a combination of them both to varying degrees.

It doesn’t make your initial comment less disingenuous though because you’re implying the team from last season had 150m of talent added to it and nothing else changed in terms of personnel.

Partey being out of the side is absolutely relevent in the context of what you specifcally said. He is our best player and the player I believe is most important to what we did at our best last season.

The warning signs have been there from last season. The amount of last minute winners and goals from crosses and set pieces was always going to be unsustainable.

Sorry Dec’s lad but you clearly don’t understand the DNA of the Arsenal.

Fuck off Declan, you deserve people to back you when you put a shift in.

That’s why you got it against Villa and West Ham.

That performance was scandalous. You lot looked like you couldn’t wait to get done with the match today.

It’s ok for you lot as you’ll get your 100-300k pw anyway. The fans who wasted their time watching or even worse went to the game have every right to slam you for it.

Good that our future captain isn’t as dramatic as we are :slightly_smiling_face:

A near three week wait now until we can look to bounce back in the league, but even that fixture looking a tough one now, and then forest away the game after…

Perhaps if he were the captain he would have more license to criticize. The man needs some help and can’t do everything.

Yes, he seems used to dropping stinkers like that at West Ham and it having no consequences.

Different standards I guess…

Lol he’s been our best player all season and is just saying the team shouldn’t panic. Get a grip.

If people are missing someone it should be the midfielder that was an actual gamechanger the past 2 seasons and his drop in form or unavailability directly impacted in back to back seasons.

Today we thought we’d try out having almost no touches in the opposition box :joy:

This looked so weird

I’m sure there is a lot of frustration at the moment. Especially in the defensive end because they can’t make mistakes and the offense is missing.
