This is the same type of overreaction as people writing off City and Pep the other day.
It doesn’t work that way, still plenty of road to go.

Sometimes you make a statement, sometimes you don’t. It’s all narrative anyway. City could have made a statement that they aren’t in a rut by beating Villa in midweek but they didnt, it’s not a definitive diagnosis of their title calibre.
We didn’t get a win here, 22 games to go and 1 point off the top, hardly bottling with that much of the season to go.
Not trying to argue it’s not disappointing or that we played remarkably but this whole bottling spiel is a bit much at this point of the season tbh. Essentially you’re saying we bottled the chance to have a position we held for some 200+ days last time and won fuck all, so I’m happy to put more weight in what happens further down the line.
Wouldn’t say we as a team bottled it but players like Saka and Martinelli, and Jesus to some extent definitely did. Would add Ode to that list too.
This was an average performance by Villa today, and a more ruthless team would have beaten them comfortably. We just looked all over the place in the final third. At our best we have struggled to score enough goals so there was no hope with us playing like that. Mikel needs to sort this shit out.
These pricks, the second that Arteta is not on the touchline they seem like they feel like ‘ah whatever not a big deal’ i hope Arteta destroys them in the dressing room. I guarantee you the result would be different if Arteta was yelling at them…are these lot a bunch of spoonfed babies or what?
Feel exact the same, when it comes to the crunch, when it even remotely matters, we always fucking bottle it.
I can’t help but feel we don’t have enough to win the league. We’ll be there or thereabouts but won’t have enough in the end cause we are lacking goals big time. We need a proper goal scorer more than anything and until we have that, we will come up just short.
And if we fall short, bottle job apparently.
and this thread is getting muted for a bit.
Having a meltdown after this is embarrassing
How do you define a bottle job?
What is the agreed upon date and time of bottlejob?
It’s really cringing when people dictate what is not a bottlejob just because they are being an Arsenal fanboy.
@Bavin, such philosophical nonsense is beyond you, my friend.
End of the season if another year goes by where we fumble a golden opportunity again (which this season undoubtedly is) it’s complacency in games like today which make the difference. Complacency is clearly in the fan base too as people are so used to shitting the bed now. While our fans have forgotten what it takes to win titles thankfully our manager isn’t so lackadaisical in his approach. He’ll know this was unacceptable. Gives hope the boys will respond properly starting on the training ground. Arsenal need to go to Anfield and win which we have a real chance of doing if this team wakes up.
Do you expect us to win all 38 games?
The thing that stings for me is Villa were pretty ordinary today, it didn’t feel a true top of the table clash, we really should have won by a goal or 2 yet we’ve taken nothing.
Anfield in 2 weeks will be much tougher and we absolutely need a result now we’ve taken nothing from Villa Park.
We’re in big trouble if we lose again in the next game. Really should’ve taken it upon ourselves to create some distance between us and the rest of the pack.
What happened to having such a great defense (still joint best), 4 goals conceded in 2 games isn’t good form at all.
Sounds like our attackers have a lot to answer for?
Brighton at home. I ain’t confident.
Very wasteful when we won the ball back in very dangerous positions, how we didn’t score in the first hour I’ll never know.
Well two of those aren’t on the defenders imo.
I’m sorry but this is manipulative.
Villa pummel teams at Villa Park and create chances constantly. We actually defended very well in the game.
We let them create like one real chance all game and they took it. They were just insanely clinical.
This is true, but we also created a lot of chances too, no?
I heard from another here we have 3 big/clear cut chances that we missed. So even despite everything that happened with the refs/VAR etc, we could’ve won 3-1 at least, no?
